I was not happy that the person who checked me in forgot to tell me that you must swipe your room key in the elevator to go to your floor. As a result I was stuck in the elevator and freaked out until the door finally opened and I realized I had to swipe the key. While many hotel chains have gone to cold grey decor, this Hampton had an old Hollywood theme and warm, inviting colors and textures. Plus the staff went above and beyond to be helpful, particularly Sam at the front desk. My husband was recovering from back surgery and Sam insisted on helping him get into the car and loaded our luggage into the back.
