Locals are friendly and the area is awesome.
Locals are friendly and the area is awesome. We stayed at the quieter end of the beach at Le Sands Hotel which was very special (the other end of the beach was very noisy). The city is a short 5 minute taxi ride away and the markets are great for shopping. Local street food was excellent. So many things to do in Da Nang and most people only stay a few days so I think they miss a lot. We stayed 12 nights and did the following activities. Ba Na hills - which we thought was overrated, Coconut village boat, Marble Mountain, Monkey Mountain with the lady buddha, Dragon bridge on Sat & Sun nights, Hoi An is 30 minutes away so there is plenty there too.

The market with the dragon bridge was a nice short walk in the evenings where we eat most evening. The dragon shoots fire and than water out of it's mouth at 21:00 on a Saturday and Sunday,(not sure if this happens on Friday evenings.....also without doubt....do the trip to Ba Na Hills. We paid approx £100 for the two of us which include the private hotel taxi there and back. Ticket prices in and ....and the fantastic buffet at 'The Four Seasons Restaurant....one of the best buffets we've had. Try and get there by 9am there is a lot to see and enjoy.

Huge city with real heavy traffic. Pedestrian safety doesn't exist due to the parked motorcycles on every street. Good location for major tourist destinations. In my opinion I would spend a maximum of 3 days before heading out of the city to the beautiful location of Hoi An.

Da Nang is very central and not too far from Hoi An. Overall, I would love to retire to Da Nang sometime in the future. I ate at many different places, with plenty of street food carts to choose from, and the hustle and bustle of the Son Tra Night Market near the Dragon bridge was an attraction for me, as I went there several times! The beaches are broad and beautiful, with plenty of relaxation, parks and is just an amazing place to be!

Aside from language barrier, we enjoyed Da Nang. We like walking around the neighborhood near our hotel in the city center. There are lots of hole-in-the-wall eateries serving affordable meals and good food. In particular, we liked the rooftop pool and that the hotel was only 2 minutes walk to Da Nang beach. The inclusive breakfast had a range of local and western options and was buffet style. The hotel arranged a transfer to the airport very early in the morning and, when departing for it, we found that the staff had specially prepared a breakfast for us. We were impressed by all the staff, especially the male staff member on reception who was particularly kind and helpful.

The room was new and clean. There is Netflix on the TV. Close to the main road, but it was not noisy. Good seafood restaurant advised by the owner 5 mins away. This was the best hotel among the four we had in Vietnam.

The hotel staff were able to pre-book tickets to Ba Na Hills which saved time. The staff also assisted us locating specialty shops that we required to visit.
