Quiet area on the bank of Crocodile river. Staff, Moses was great showing us wild life; we saw hippo on land just in front of the view deck in the morning slowly entering the river; as predicted by Moses the night before .
There is a small shopping center where you can buy food, alchohole, and other daily products.

I had great deal on this property but it got even better when we arrived and met the lovely host Sandi. She's so warm and friendly she made us feel at right at home. Sandi was even nice enough to share her cooking oil. Although the property itself is great, the greatest asset they have is the host. Thank you Sandi and keep up doing the good work.

Easy access and quick access.
Easy access and quick access. We went off season but had pre-booked with SANParks, so a word of warning, don't pre-book unless it's high season to guarantee access. It doesn't specify this when booking, so we thought we were paying the conservation fees.
You're free to roam around in your own vehicle and don't need an off-roader. There is an abundance of wildlife so you don't even need to stay for 3 days. We went for 2 hours on our own and saw elephants, rhinos, 'pumbas' and impalas.
The toilets are few and far between so either go when you find them or you'll have to do it at the side of the road...without straying into the Bush.
We then went for a full day with a guide who knows the area better and took us to the watering holes we probably would've never found on our own, where giraffes, wildebeest, hippos and elephants were all hanging out.
A note about Malaria: we read that malaria was found around Kruger and had conflicting advice about taking anti-malaria tablets. In the end, we just covered our legs and arms (even though it was hot) and sprayed mosquito repellent with 50% deet.
In short, Kruger is a must, but don't expect to see leopards or cheetahs, as they are, quite literally, impossible to 'spot'.

Malelane is very beautiful and easy to get around.
Malelane is very beautiful and easy to get around. I loved the wild life the most, it was pleasant view to watch the birds and animals roaming around freely. The staff at the gate were very friendly and helpful. Wish I had more time to give a constructive review but went to the park for just half a day and managed to see some of the big 5 which was the purpose of my visit.

Pastana still remains for me the most affordable best and well managed accommodation in Malelane.
The Restuarant always meet my expectation of the wide spread of eats available.
Malelane is very easy to navigate. It has all the amenities to accommodate a travelers needs
The town is very clean .
I would avoid accommodation I have not visited before. A picture tell a thousand tales. But some can be very deceiving and uncomfortable.

Malelane town is totally unappealing.
Malelane town is totally unappealing. The only reason for staying in the suburb we stayed in was a) it is outside the town and b) is close to the Kruger Park entrance. We stayed in Mhlathikop suburb, which is nice and can be recommended.
An amazing place in a great location for visiting Kruger. The room was huge with both a bath and shower, a private outdoor terrace overlooking the Crocodile River and Kruger National Park and a swimming pool. Breakfast was delicious and we ate with a view over the river. The honesty bar and extra tea and coffee making facilities were a lovely touch, along with robes in the room and a spacious fridge. The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. We only stayed one night but we will definitely be back.
.The self catering unit had everything I needed. The unit was spotless and cleaned daily. I liked the view of the dam and the mountains from my unit. Reception was friendly and helpful always (engaged with Letta). The checking in and checking out was seemless. Thank you Letta for organising Almond milk for me; highly appreciated as adhering to a vegan diet can be tricky in foreign town. Thank you Jimmy for the game drive at Kruger National Park; the experience was priceless.
The deck overlooking the Crocodile River is an excellent place for sundowners or early morning tea. There is a floodlight for spotting game when it is dark. All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We had a very good supper and breakfast. The location is a very short drive away from the Kruger's Malelane Gate so we were able to get into the park early.
Amazing property!
We were staying here while on a visit to Kruger.
The location was just perfect. so close to Melalane gate . The restaurant packed us a lovely breakfast for our early start for the day.
The rooms were bare minimum but were exactly what we needed - comfortable & clean.
We also had dinner at the restaurant - tasty food & great service.
The entire place is raw awesomeness, you're literally sitting at the border of Krüger, with hippos, warthogs, antilopes, and all sorts of animals coming down to the river to drink.
Staff is exceptionally nice and helpful, i can only recommend it.
gonna definitely return later 🤗👌
The staff were really good, very friendly and pleasant. They went out of their way to assist and be helpful. The location was great, very accecable to the Malelane gate. The breakfasts and meals in general were consistently good.
Seemless check in as we had stayed previously. Has all we need prior to entering Kruger National Park, ie, Freezer for meat supplies, very handy for the local Spar. Very quiet location and only 10 minutes from Malelane Gate.
Very close to Kruger Malelane gate, They got small restaurant and a bar with delicious food and offered a safe parking for our car . Very friendly and kind staff. And very safe place and complete value for money .
New hotel complex, the rooms are spacious. Beautiful scenery looking over the edge of the river and Kruger national park. Quiet surroundings. Restaurant is delicious. Nice dip in the pool.
This gem, just outside of Kruger is AMMMMMMMMMAZING. I'm sorry that we only spent one night here.
Great place. Great hosts. Great amenities. Great town in a great location.
On the banks of the Crocodile River - it felt like you were IN the Kruger Park. Super comfortable thatch lodge that feels warm and inviting. I could have spent a month there.
It is a beautiful place to stay. It is really comfortable and high-quality facilities. So convenient to be close to Kruger Malelane Gate. I enjoyed my stay.
The quirkiness, the quiet restfulness, the position so close to Malelane gate, friendliness of staff and owners. Good views into Kruger across the river.
