We were on our way from Northern Portugal to Madrid Spain, and found this place on the way. So that was a considered as a place for an overnight only. The owner was very welcoming, need to use google translate, as Portuguese is the only language... She also runs a small cafe shop, just across the street. There is a large swimming pool - it was too cold for us, but if you arrive in hot days, it looks great.

It had my essential requirements: a good shower with plenty of hot water and comfy beds. The breakfast was delicious and especially nice the last day when we could eat outside. Anabel was most helpful. This was probably our favorite place in our entire Portugal stay.

Helt fantastik beliggenhed. Super sød og hjælpsom værtinde og personale. Skøn morgenmad både for øjnene og for maven. Lækker vin fra stedets egen produktion.

Casa de Campo das Sécias ligger i Vilas Boas, som er en del af den populære Vila Flor. Host very helpful in allowing me to use her printer to print boarding passes. Breakfast was not just the standard continental bread and coffee, but included fruit, cereals, range of breads and toast and condiments and cheeses, fruit juice and tea/coffee. Room was large. Area is very quiet.

Moleiro de Bacal is a lovely country home located just outside of Braganca. Maria Jose is the most gracious hostess. Our room was huge with a spacious terrace outside of our bedroom where you can sit in the shade and enjoy the afternoon breeze. Maria Jose will schedule your homecooked breakfast at the time you wish - huge portions of scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh orange juice, fresh fruit, bread, coffee and her homemade jams. We were within a 15 to 20 minute drive of the modern city of Braganca which we enjoyed exploring the fort and the Museum of Masks. One evening we had the most delicious wild game dinner at the Restaurante Solar Braganca in town. We also drove up to the tiny village of Rio de Onor one afternoon and the village of Montesinho on another day. So quiet and relaxing. We highly recommend staying with Maria Jose in her beautiful country home.
