Amazing swimming pool with several pools suitable for all ages and abilities, including an outdoor thermal bath with jacuzzis. The ice rink was up when we were there, lots of nearby cafes and pubs. Lovely riverside walks and great playpark/animal centre between Saanen and Gstaad. Many train and bus connections. Several gondolas up to mountain restaurants and views and walks.
Coop cafe is good and relatively cheap for budget conscious travellers.

One of the most beautiful places in Switzerland.
One of the most beautiful places in Switzerland. Almost all the houses are in chalet style, which gives the place a special charm. Lots of walking possibilities, also for seniors, and there are many lifts up the mountains.

Hiking and taking a lift to the top of the mountains was absolutely incredible. Very good signs made hiking between towns in the area simple and very rewarding views. Food in all towns was very very good, maybe best meal we had in the country.
Very nice studio equipped with everything that was needed. The terrace has a nice view of the mountains. The hosts were very welcoming. The chalet seems to be new and is very clean. The slopes for skiing were closed, but we could ski in the slopes from the nearby stations. We used a car, so it was very convenient, but there is also a bus station right in front of the property. However, buses circulate only once per hour until 7-8 PM. There is also private parking. We had a very nice stay close to Gstaad.
lovely owners. you can tell they take pride in their “home.”.
For a four star resort, they serve 5 star food— with a little treat from the chef before each meal. You must try the chocolate mousse, the goulash with crème fresh, the snitzel is amazing, pumpkin risotto, gnocchi (they brought my Italian husband seconds like he was family), French onion soup and the glugwine. Their New Years meal was top as well — their fillet of beef was tender.
I hope you enjoy this hotel as much as we did.
the place is amazing if you look for alpine classic places. it is a converted barn, that is run by the friendly owner family. The place is not new and you need to get up stairs. But it is just an amazing jewel of places, close to Gstaad, but still affordable.
the owner are just there to help with whatever you need and you can feel family, hospitality and joy when you enter the small building. Breakfast is local and top. I would always go back there again
Fantastic Property. Central location 5 minutes from train station and main street shops and restaurants. Staff is amazing and friendly, meals at restaurants on property were phenomenal. Half Board option for hotel guests was a great touch - four course menu that changes nightly and keeps things fresh. Beautiful amenities as well - spa and indoor pool were very nice. Would stay again in a heart beat if returning to Gstaad.
What a delightful hotel right in the centre of Gstaad in the pedestrian only zone. Fabulous interior decor of public spaces and bedroom/ ensuite. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent extensive breakfast. Unfortunately restaurant closed on a Wednesday so we couldn't eat dinner the hotel. Parking available on reservation. Guest card issued at check-in giving good discount including the local train which we used.
fantastic mountain lodge in one of Switzerland’s most beautiful villages. modern wooden chalet with huge but cozy lounge, great bar, very friendly staff and nice spa/gym/pool amenities.
nice, modern rooms, great view of the mountains overlooking the village.
ideal place for a weekend chilled getaway. Highly recommended for couples. bonus: dogs are accepted!
Beautifully located on top of Gstaad with a stunning panoramic view. Calm surroundings while still being close to the center by foot or hotel shuttle service.
The service and staff was top notch, with everyone doing their best to make you feel at home. The restaurant was amazing too.
Breakfast is great! The hotel is very conveniently located to the ski lift. You can walk with ski boots, no need to worry about the distance. There are also two ski stores which can rent ski/snowboard.
Bruno Kernen is the best hotel owner I have met so far.
This is a charming hotel with a lovely staff and nice restaurant. Breakfast was included with our room. A 2km walk from the hotel is a tram that is well worth taking for the beautiful vistas, lovely walk around the lake, and a nice restaurant at the top.
They upgraded our room to accomodate better with daughter and the room/ view were spectacular. Hotel has everything for families, playrooms for kids, pools, and access to the hiking, towns nearby it makes this hotel one to come back.
Le Grand Chalet is situated above, but easy walking distance, to Gstaad Village. It has spectacular views, an outstanding restaurant, lovely spacious rooms with balconies, and best of all the most welcoming and kind staff.
The hotel has amazing view of Gstaad and Saanen. Very cool bar area. The spa facilities were very nice. And the room even with the restricted view had amazing view and terrace.
