A lovely place especially as it was just before Christmas and the place was lit up. The people were great.Reindeer pulling Santa’s slay was a huge surprise. We didn’t go to the thermal pools, one was being refurbished, one was flooded due to the river being high and the other didn’t appeal.

Very difficult town to navigate as buildings are many stories high so no visual points of reference. Also if driving most streets are one way. It took us ages to find our hotel despite SatNav. We only stopped one night and where happy to move on.

We stopped for one night along a trip from Vigo to Astorga to experience the thermal springs. In the morning we bought towels at the Bazaar down the street, ate breakfast and headed to Outariz parking. A short walk to the pedestrian bridge over the Miño river got us to the free termals. It was very nice. We will be back!

Ourense was okay.
Ourense was okay. You heard a lot of noice in the appartment, the traffic light for pedestrians sounded like an alarm, very annoying. Also the appartment had a very unnice smell. The checking in and out was not easy, we received 4 keys, and the parking of the car was only possible from the moment of the check in.

The best bit about Ourense is the thermal springs.
The best bit about Ourense is the thermal springs. Some are free and some are paid for. We went to the free ones at Chasqueveira. You can walk from town. Just take your costume and a towel and you can leave them on the edge while you have a dip. Go anytime. We have just been on a chilly, cloudy late September weekend and they are fantastic. Well worth going.
The staff is incredible, everyone, literally everyone is polite, helpful and happy! We were very well received. It is a great value hotel, with coffeshops, restaurants and touristic spots only 5min walking and 15min walking to the train station. Comfortable room, nice sleeping, our room had a tiny desk to work and they offered a big shared space for work as well in other floor with many tables. It is everything like in the description. If we come back to Ourense someday definitely we will search for this hotel again.
Wonderful hotel with exceptional staff, especially at the front desk. I've stayed here 5-6 times since 2017 and always find it relaxing and enjoyable. It's an old-fashioned gem with a nice lobby, a lovely bar on premises and a great breakfast buffet. The buffet staff is top-notch too. In a great area right off the old-city; there are many drinking and dining choices within a 10 minute walk. I think it's one of Ourense"s best hotels, one that provides exceptional value with great service and a touch of class.
This is a clean, efficient, nicely appointed, well-situated one bedroom, one-bathroom apartment in the heart of Ourense's historic zone. There is an additional sofa bed in the living room. You really couldn't ask for more at such a reasonable price. Best of all are the friendly and helpful owners Conchi and David who also manage this attractive property. And it is an easy walk to anywhere in the old town distict which becomes quite lively and festive when the sun goes down. Highly recommended.
Really liked this hotel. Good location in the town with a short walk to the historic centre. Nice classic/ old style hotel with big rooms, solid fittings and nice modern bathroom with a big shower. Very nice and reasonably priced hotel bar too. Parking in a garage available at a cost (10 euros a day) which is handy if you can’t find a space on the street or need to park for longer than 2 hours.
Everything related to my acommodation and stay was really wonderful.
The room I was given was very comfy, well furnished and clean.
I'd like to highlight this is the second time I've booked a room at the New J&J Hostel and both experiences were very pleasant to me, so I recommend this place to anyone interested in reserving a good place to stay in downtown Ourense.
The hotel is located in the heart of Ourense and very close to the "casco antiguo" of the city, which is great as you can get to the best bars, restaurants and main attractions very quickly.
The hotel staff was very helpful (on arrival and next morning) and the breakfast was alright.
The gym is a nice added feature. You can also have water and some fresh apples right there. The sweets they put at the lobby are also a nice add-on. I did no use the hotel parking as I could park near, outside in the street, out of the controlled "blue zone".
Great place to stay in Ourense. Perfect location from historic center. It was clean and had good internet connection. The terrace and the private parking were a plus. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great hotel. Everything is clean, cozy, tastefully done. Nice design, decorated according to the season, snow-white fluffy towels. The staff is polite and friendly. Late check-in was kindly approved.
Location was convenient. Parking garage was easily accessible. Air conditioning worked well. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable.
It’s a basic hotel with great value
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Oddly the map app on our iphone indicated that the hotel is permanently closed, which was an error.
We had a lovely room facing the river.
the hotel was very near the old town and the things we wanted to see. the staff was very helpful and arranged a private car to take us to Sarria to begin our Camino.
Very nice hotel. with spa inside. The room was very big, the bed very confy. All with a great price. Really nice. I would really recommed this hotel in Ourense.
What I liked best was the staff and how friendly they were!
The room was clean and spacious, and as the hotel was overbooked they gave us a superior room.
