Like a mini Prague. Lots of history with a modern edge.
Like a mini Prague. Lots of history with a modern edge. Not short of great restaurants, coffee shops, local and nearby tourist sites. Even in the rain, which it did every day we were visiting, you still had plenty to do undercover. Favourite coffee shop, Le Moulin a cafe, favourite restaurant Balme, favourite local spot along the river & nearby town Amboise. Easy to get around town.

We love Poitiers, the choice of things to do and see are perfect for us as are the large selection of restaurants and shops. We like to have an aperitif in the cafe bars in the large square in front of the Hotel de Ville.

We only visited Poitiers for a one night stopover on our way to another destination. We strolled around town visiting some shops and had a nice dinner across the street from the hotel. We can't evaluate the city and surroundings much further due to the fact that we didn't see much beyond our hotel stay and meal out in the evening. It was a lovely spot however.

We enjoyed walking in Poitiers, lovely old town with beautiful churches. Amazing antique buildings. Unfortunately, however, service in the different restaurants we went to was bad. The third and last restaurant we went to was even dishonest.

The centre of Poitiers was charming with a mix of architecture and some wonderful churches and religious buildings in the Romanesque style. During our stay, we enjoyed a lovely walk along the river and in the Parc (Blossac). We visited a lovely Lebanese restaurant (the Beyrouth) where we had a delicious lunchtime meal. There was also a market in the square near to L'Eglise de Notre Dame. Although we enjoyed our visit, there was something lacking for us: the buzz and excitement of other cities perhaps. Also, as we were using public transport and there were issues with the riots affecting the late running of the buses, we didn't visit Futuroscope, but imagine it would be well worth the visit.

Poitiers was a revelation and provided a beauty that I wasn't expecting. Walking the streets to the Cathedrale Saint Pierre, we were taken back to an era one could only imagine. We imagined life during the 19th and 20th centuries and how traditional French buildings and architecture have been re-purposed for life in the 21st. We visited two central squares and eat in one of them and it was delightful
breakfast very good with a delightful manageress. The room, 305, we had to change owing to the obnoxious smell at 7am .
location in the centre of town exceeded expectations but signage to enter garage very poor. If you consider this a "Grand Hotel" then I suggest that you visit other groups who class their hotel as "Grand" and se what is expected. If you have a bar then have it apart from the reception area, very poor design.
Location is superb--the door opens right onto the streets of historic centre ville of Poitiers.
The staff was very kind in providing a private garage parking space for us within the property.
The breakfast was nice and convenient for an extra charge.
The room was nice and comfortable, though small; and it had a small balcony out over the historic street.
An excellent Lebanese restaurant is next door for dining.
Right in the centre of Poitiers, but with a south-facing garden, at least a dozen restaurants within 5 minutes' walk. Clean, well maintained, excellent breakfast and very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent for an overnight stay if you're using Poitiers as a stopping-off point between Britain and the south of France but also for staying longer to explore the locality.
Ibis centre poitiers Breakfast was okay and
Bedroom was very hot and less spacious for two people to share ,toilet rolls had to be requested as they kept on running out quickly due to the quality of the tissue.
No fridge in room for long stay .
Having air conditioning or a fan as additional would have helped immensely
The location to parking as well as to the city and sights was great. Also the breakfast in the morning was amazing, best bread I had in France as well as condiments. The selection was vast and the coffee was great.
The room was well appointed and very quiet.
I was able to borrow a charger from the front desk as well
Simple but good value and in an interesting location. The hotel itself is on an ugly, busy street but parking there is easy. And if you take the exit at the back and walk through the garden, you end up on a quiet street in the charming old center. Great start for exploring the city on foot.
The beds were super comfy.
The hotel was superbly decorated and very well appointed.
The reception staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.
The location was very close to the centre of Poitiers so it was very convenient.
There was parking under the hotel.
Very nice Hotel if you plan on stopping during your trip through France. Fair price and clean/comfortable rooms. Staff were very nice and the check-in/check-out process was very quick and easy. There’s also a bakery with very good pastries not far from it.
Location superb for a visit to Poitiers. Wouldn't be so good for a 1-night transit stop as hotel is inside the complicated one way and partly pedestrianised centre. Car park not in the same street as the main entrance.
It was a very small but quite well appointed mini studio. The location was decent, on the edge of the old town, very close to a nice park to walk through on the way to the main sights. It was ideal for a solo traveller.
The accommodation offered a very good value for money.
The location is also very good for people doing a stop on the way further to the south of France. The location is close to the highway and close to tank stations.
perfect location for dropping off rental car and getting the train to Paris. very easy to get into the main part of town from there too. we have stayed here a few times when we need to get a morning train to Paris.
While the staff are friendly and the hotel is conveniently located near to the motorway (with free parking), there were several things about this hotel which resulted in my stay being rather lacklustre.
Friendly and helpful host and cosy apartment. great for short stay. Close to the railway station. If you don’t mind walking uphill / stairs and a little distance the old town is walkable.
We needed a transfer hotel (1 night) and this one is located near the highway without the noise. The rooms are functional and clean. The breakfast was above average and in a cosy setting.
This apartment was large, its facilities new and useful, its location a nice walk into the Centre Ville (and an even shorter walk to public transportation into the center)
