There is a lot of history to learn of particular interest to the British from the first settlement to the present day. To appreciate the city it is necessary to walk everywhere- over the peace bridge, along the road with the murals in Bogside, around the Guildhall, walk the city walls and visit museums etc. Plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Really friendly helpful people. Very easy city to navigate.
Really friendly helpful people. Very easy city to navigate. Highly recommend participating in a walking tour (around the walled area) of the city. Takes about an hour, but is really helpful (historically).
We had just an overnight & until the following early afternoon. Will definitely be returning!
Street parking close to No 9 is free of charge from 6pm until 9am, car parks close by to park in from 9am!

We went on a guided tour of city and it was really worthwhile and enlightening and gave us a feel of what the city has been through. Our accommodation was within walking distance a brilliant location . Exchange rate made things expensive. Definitely worth a visit and we will certainly return, easy to drive around.

We booked and paid for the hot tub and didn’t even use it as as soon as we checked in we leave and tried to find a better hotel
I also asked for champagne and sweets on arrival as you are not aloud to bring your own drink and we didn’t revive any thing

Went mid-week over Valentines for 2 nights.
Went mid-week over Valentines for 2 nights. The towpath walk from the hotel (Waterfoot Hotel) to the Peace Bridge and town at around 45 mins was lovely (it was a dry morning) as was the bridge itself.
Loved Sandino's quirky cuban themed bar and also the Taphouse bar near the Guildhall (Music/Singer in the Taphouse from 9pm was great on a Thursday night).
Sooty Olive restaurant (Waterside) then Silver Street bar/restaurant (main town) are both good food places to have dinner & drinks - Silver Street being more economical. City Walls a great experience also.

Nice modern hotel near many of the Derry attractions. Just at the Peace Bridge, and the city walls are just a block or so away. Steven at the front desk and the other lady were really great staff. Carpets and some of the chairs have a couple of small stains here and there, but it seems like it gets a lot of traffic. Restaurant downstairs has mostly bar food, but the fish and chips and the pizza were actually really tasty. Breakfast was a full buffet. Parking was relatively easy and just a block or so away.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the City Hotel, which is located in the city centre. We had a lovely room overlooking the River Foyle and the Ebrington foot bridge. The gym and swimming pool were excellent as was the breakfast, even though there was queue, it moved quickly and we were not kept waiting too long. The reception and concierge staff were very friendly in a unpretentious way. The city itself is interesting and there were lots of places to eat, including in the bar at the hotel.
I would normally stay in hotels as I don't really like B&B 's because you are in people's houses & are worried about making noise etc, but with this Garden Room you are out on your own not having to bother anyone. My daughter & I had a great stay , location good not too far from city centre, taxi only £4, which we only used at night to go into centre fof a drink.
Had an excellent meal @ Fitzroys Restaurant, would definitely recommend.., although book in advance before you go.
I loved the entire concept. From the beautifully restored building to the detailed interior design which was spot on. The rooms named after famous Irish poets was an especially quaint and informative touch. The lovely opulent wallpaper and velvet swag curtains and antique furnishings just took me back in time but with luxury. John and his team (Colin and the room cleaning woman) very so friendly and warm I will surely return and recommend this hotel without reserve.
2 queen beds were very comfortable. Enough chairs for both of us to sit and watch tv, plus one other. Big towels, and nice toiletries. Fridge. Quiet carpeted corridors and self closing doors. Ground floor room was easy for our dog. Could open the windows to air the room. Hotel is quite a walk from the city centre but it is at the end of the quay trail which is a pleasant stroll by the river and a place to execise the dog
Location was the best. Room had everything we needed and was very cute. Breakfast was wonderful. This was a hotel that we said we splurge a little for. We defiantly were not disappointed. Special thank you to concierge - Susan I think, who arranged a private driver-Dermot - to take us to Giant's Causeway and then to Belfast for our train back to Dublin. Northern Irish coast was the highlight of our 10 days in Ireland.
The room was very nice and when we asked staff for a good restaurant, they recommended The Kesh, where we ended up going twice. They also gave us our own fridge when we asked for some space in theirs and warmed up some food for us. Close to border with Ireland. Wild Ireland park, Londonderry and Glenveagh National Park easily accessible.
Excellent hotel, staff extremely friendly, room very clean and comfortable with excellent river views, hotel in a great location close to shops and restaurants, very close to both bus and train stations, food and drink very reasonably priced, enjoyed our stay that much already booked to come back for some Christmas shopping
We stayed here again for one night as we had tickets for the millennium forum. The hotel's location is excellent as you are walking distance from everything. We didn't get into the free carpark but at another a few streets away for 7.20 pounds for 24 hrs. The hotel and staff are lovely and just as you would want.
A warm greeting is the first of many personal touches Eilish does to make you feel at home at Redgate House! Tea on arrival and great conversation to discuss points of interest in the city, a great places to eat! Your home away from home when visiting the beautiful city of Londonderry!
Hotel was lovely and comfortable. The bar and dining area is really nice with great food. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for you. The hotel is less than a 10min drive outside the city centre so great if you want to stay just outside the city.
It was clean. well maintained. Very nice looking. Convenient location. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in. The self-check in/out was really easy. it was such a relief to have a kitchen when we didn’t want to eat out every meal.
This is a very nice hotel. Our room was great, the restaurant was very good, and the location was perfect for us. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They did a great job in pointing us in the right direction to see the sights of Derry.
It was a very-very nice place. The proximity to dining and such was great. The staff was very friendly. I would recommend to others planning to travel to Derry Londonderry!
Best place ever awesome as usual .. no words can express the hospitality of Mrs Tonya and Shauna they are perfect in everything. I strongly recommend this Hotel .
