To be honest-it' just for hardcore travellers or backpackers yet. It's not an easy destination, they still need to improve in many ways. The people are very kind - but they are poor. There is rubbish everywhere - Sad to see it. But they are working on it, more and more attracions open every year for you to discover. The mountains are beautyful. If you don't expect too much, please support Georgia with your travel and money.

Great place especially the bridge & restaurants by the river .. 160 km away Uplistsikhe Cave Town is a must if travelling between TBILISI & KUTAISI. Food and restaurants are excellent in both. Ambience is great.
The flat is new and very well equipped with spacious lounge. Very secure with courtyard and gate and quiet. Lovely people.
Very good place to chill out in. We were a couple and a Lady friend. Thank you. We were only there 2 days but will return.

The city is nice, but to be honest after time I regret that we did not went first to Batumi or Tibilisi. For me personally, this city is good but for 1 or max. 2 days of sightseeing, after more time I would get bored. The city is very old, sometimes you can feel that it is still not so adapted to the tourism. Nice place for people that are facinated about history and old buildings. Maybe in the summer it has more to offer. We went in March when there was nothing much to do.

To see:
To see:
Prometheus Cave (it is not as touristy as the negative reviews I read, and most of the caves are lit by white light with some colored lights so you see the natural rock colors - it is awesome, the size and formations)
Motsameta Monastery (beautiful, small, on a mountain with a frescoed church and views of more of the Caucasus and river...I heard Gelati is great too but did not see it)
Bagrati's Cathedral and the surrounding ruins, including kvevrebi (clay wine jars in the ground)
Kutaisi Botanical Garden (Bagrati is on the way to this, depending on where you stay), 5 lari admission fee (bring small bills - I found out not everyone has change for 100 lari)...beautiful and with an Orthodox shrine in a tree!
Bukioti (small, colorful cafe with cacao and of course coffee, tea, hot chocolate, as well as achma (a type of khachapuri made with puff pastry) and the best desserts (lava cake, apple dessert which is an air-fried apple filled with nuts and raisins, both topped with vanilla ice cream, and others)
El Paso restaurant - good khinkali
Kolkha Fountain that is in the city center (gold-toned animals with 2 horses on top and a lit in different colors at night)

Beautiful city. It was clean, friendly people.
Beautiful city. It was clean, friendly people. The food was amazing. We went during the winter so the snow was great and everything was running smoothly. Most of the places to visit are at most 1 hour away. Would recommend to go with the local tour guide rather than driving yourself just because the streets and signals are not clear for a foreigner. Food and ticket entries are very affordable. For a trip for a family of 5 people, we did not waste more than 1000 euros

The journey to Kutaisi is like a journey to the past.
The journey to Kutaisi is like a journey to the past. It is nice to see wild world, wild city like Kutaisi. Everything goes slow (apart from road traffic) and food smells and tastes so good.
Go to Kutaisi and feel it yourself!
The best hotel in Kutaisi. Everything is completely up to western standards, but you'd pay at least twice or three times the price for the same room in Europe. The decor is beautiful and the room very comfortable. The location great. They have a rooftop lounge which a view of Bagrati Cathedral. The staff are very friendly, especially Giga who helped us tremendously with everything, and was very open to talking with us and telling us about the city. Giga as well as all the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and relaxed.
The stay here felt like visiting family and not staying in a hotel. The guesthouse is indeed a former private house with large rooms and nice furniture (even a grand piano!), located in a central and yet rather quite street. It is run by Keti, the mother of the family which once lived there. She speaks English, is very attentive and helpful. Every morning she prepared delicious Georgian breakfast for us. She also arranged a private driver for our trip and airport transfer.
Best hotel in Kutaisi. Staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, and the property is centrally located. Breakfast was nice, and everything seemed well maintained. We had a very early flight and nit only did they let us check in at 7 IN THE MORNING, they also offered us breakfast even though it was not a paid night. 10/10 all around. The bed was so comfortable that I took the sheets off to take a photo of the brand to see if I can order it in my home country!
We stayed at the Grand Opera Hotel for one night before catching a flight out of Kutaisi in the early morning. The room was super clean and comfortable. The staff is very efficient and helpful, they booked our transfer to the airport and prepared breakfasts to go for our departure at 4 AM. The hotel is perfectly located in the old center of Kutaisi, there is a lovely cafe below it. The terrasse on top looks like a cool place to chill. Good value for money.
The hotel is easily reachable by foot from Kutaisi touristic centre. Close to restaurants. We stayed for one night before our morning flight and were very pleased with our stay. We stayed in room Nr 5. The bathroom was niccely newly renovated, the room was big and the bed was comfy. The hotel has its character. We have not tried the breakfast. We booked a convenient airport transfer at reasonable price. The hotel staff was friendly.
Amazing hotel at the heart of Kutaisi. Extremely comfy beds, great decor, excellent showers and amazing staff, always kind and eager to help. Special thanks to Nia, Roma and Luka. The three of them helped us with every question we had, they helped us book a taxi to the airport at 4am and even gave us breakfast to go so we could have something to eat for our early flight. Thank you so much for your kindness you were GREAT!!
It is a brilliant small hotel in the absolute best location in Kutaisi. The check-in system is really simple, the host is always available via booking in case of questions. My room was super clean, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was just perfect. Extra point for the free shampoo AND shower gel, not a useless mix of the two.
I would consider going back anytime, I can highly recommend this place.
The owner was really helpful , she does not speak English, but requested help from a friend. She also was using translation to help us out . The apartment was amazing because it had all the facilities. The hotel is in the center of Kutaisi which made it easy for us to reach out all what we wanted. There is a supermarket beneath the hotel and a café just opposite to it:
Bela, the host, was super friendly and the view from the terrace was amazing. The hosts were so kind and picked us up from the airport at 2 am. It was the perfect start to our stay here in Georgia. The hosts went above and beyond to help us catch our bus when we left Kutaisi. We definitely recommend staying here for a homey and personal experience.
Ramaz is an amazing and lovely host, he lifted us from the airport and then helped us find an apartment for a 3rd night, also helped us to book a car.
The welcome gift was a bottle of Georgian wine.
The world needs more people like Ramaz, we will sure be back one day, it was one of the best experiences we've ever had.
The hotel is pretty simple but comfortable.Good location in the heart of old Kutaisi.
What actually makes it special is the staff. The lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful. We had late transfer to the airport. She organised us coffee and homemade cake.
Location was great. Internet was working very well. Also you can book tours throughout Georgian. Next day we booked transfer from hotel to airport early in the morning and it was very comfortable for us because we didn't wait for taxi 9driver was waiting for us).
Good location of hotel if you have early flight from Kutaisi airport. Taxi to airport costs ~30 lari and it takes ~20 min.
Hotel is clean and comfortable. Good price / value ratio.
Nice garden with pool and tree house although we didn't try as it was winter.
Nino was an excellent host, helpful if you need some info about Kutaisi/Georgia. No problem if you arrive during the night, they offer an airport pickup, and it's not that expensive either. The rooms are nice and clean, and the breakfast is good enough.
Hotel Sanapiro is well located in Kutaisi along the river. A room with a riverside balcony is a must! It's a luxurious hotel. Everything is clean, breakfast is continental style. Staff goes above and beyond with all requests.
-The Hotel is new.
- Located in the heart of Kutaisi.
- Parkings are available.
- Big Rooms and Cozy Beds.
- Warm Welcoming and Very Friendly Staff. (Tamari)
