We spent five wonderful and unforgettable days at the Elounda beach hotel.
From the moment you arrive you are greeted by extremely warm and personable reception and concierge staff. The hotel has amazing landscaping and it feels like you are staying on a private island in your own world. Elounda beach has THE best location on the mirabello bay with the best views of the bay on either side of the hotel.
The hotel beaches were one of the biggest attractions for us and they did not disappoint. They have 2 beaches (1 large and 1 small). We loved the small beach which was almost felt like our private beach. The water was great and refreshing and service was excellent. The rooms have amazing views and are very well equipped
The hotel has 4 excellent restaurants on the property with excellent quality food and a wide variety and we never felt the need to go anywhere outside for our meals. The restaurant staff was very accommodating with tables with excellent view and great service. There was a special 3 hour Greek BBQ and song and dance night that was one of the highlights for our stay. The veghera bar which is almost in its own rock island and shaped like a ship was favorite place for drinks and cocktails.
Overall the staff of the hotel is amazing and super professional and accommodating. They set very high standards and always aim to satisfy their guests

A quiet location a couple of miles from the main town Elounda, the breakfast was fabulous, and varied with choices of full English, Mediterranean or Greek, the staff were helpful and friendly without exception. Great views over Elounda and Spinalonga Islands. There is also a small gym, bar and pool table, which we didn't make use of but good to know we could if we wanted.

Elounda is a compact small town on a beautiful sheltered bay. Easy to walk around to visit shops and the many restaurants, tavernas and cafes. In high season it's very much a resort but it's also really nice to visit it out of season, when it's just a working town. There are expensive resorts and hotels outside the main town and it's obvious that there is sufficient income for the local authorities to keep the roads, pavements, infrastructure, etc., well maintained, unlike some other places on Crete.ChristineGreece - 6.0Scored 6.0

Would be a charming town if not sooo many tourists who are being brough to Elounda with big busses to do boat tours. Above has impact on prices and daily routine in the town, leaving little space for Cretean live-style.

Elounda is a great place - very pretty, everything you need is within walking distance - you dont really need a car. Beaches are close by, or you can walk further out to them. Bars and restaurants all around - some cheap and cheerful, some traditional some finer dining - but all are excellent. You can get boats from the harbour/port to various places. Lots of places to visit - Spinalonga, Ag Nik, Heraklion, museums etc Also if you like walking - there are a lot of options around the peninsula and along to Plaka. It isnt cheap but isn't expensive. There are A LOT of English people who go to Elounda (regularly) - but its not full of sports bars or English breakfast places! A really good place for a first timer to Crete or Greece. Elunda is a little fishing village that has grown with the tourist industry, loads of taverna's and restaurants easily keep you going for two weeks, some nice bars as well. We go in May or September, September is still up to 30 deg and the sea is lovely and warm, it is a lot quieter and relaxing with older people being the main tourists. The town has two good beaches, It overlooks a bay that is guarded by Spinalonga Island formerly a leaper colony and before that a Venetian fort, worth a visit by boat from the harbour. Along the coast a couple of miles in a Taxi is Placa a charming place to have a meal or a drink in the evening, has some very good restaurants with a beautiful view of Spinalonga. The other side of Elunda is a large town of Agios Nikolaos Lots of shops and things to see even more restaurants. We hired a car for a few days and went out and about there are a few interesting arclogiclde sites within an hours radius, Kritsais a very old village inland up in the hills, it is worth a visit with lots of craft shops and taverna's and nice views, We have been to Elunda 4 times and will go back next year hopefully.

The holiday homes are cultured, there are no vendors on the beach, or loud music. There are a lot of rocks in the sea and the fishes are biting :D, so it's worth wearing water shoes. It's a calm and clean city, the locals are nice, the food and drinks are amazing, they give you big portions. There is a lot of wind in Elounda, but Plaka is really windy. There is some nightlife in the bars, but nothing rough. The vacation here is relaxing and pleasant.

Elounda is outstanding.A number of restaurants are on jetties streching out into Elounda bay. The Blue Sea Cretan Cuisine and seafood restaurant located in front of my hotel was fabulous! Exceptional food and service at great prices. Elounda and Spinalonga is full of lovely local shops selling beautiful items, many hand made. The local people I found to be warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed with plenty of available sunbeds on the sea front. I felt no need to go anywhere else as I was staying for 1 week, although there were boat trips on offer along the sea front. I did get the bus to Agios Nikolaus for 1euro 80 each way around 20 minutes from Elounda.AnnaUnited Kingdom

You can walk easily to restaurants, caffes and the local marina. The room was very spacious. We had 2 separate rooms, a kitchen and 2 balconies. The place was very quiet (but plenty of cicadas all over crete). The windows were sound proof! The kitchen was great. The ac was perfect. The beds were more comfortable then most hotels. Short drive to both Elounda and Plaka, in fact it takes 30 minutes to walk to both. Really ‘cool’ hotel with elegant public rooms, restaurants, beach and swimming pool. Buggies that would drive you around the complex (necessary). The staff were excellent, friendly and flexible. Samurai restaurant served amazing sushi and we drank one of the best red wines we’ve ever had.

My sisters and I had a totally fabulous and relaxing stay at Tsifliki Beach House. The views from the terrace are breathtaking especially at dawn and sunset. Easy walk into Elounda and Plaka for beautiful shops and restuarants. The private beach is so peaceful and the family are so welcoming and helpful. You will not be disappointed and we will definitely return.
