although you might think that Analipsi is out of the way, it is perfect for beaches and food. Galini Studios are pristine and although we thought they were brand new, they have in fact been there for some time. The owners were more than willing to collect us from the ferry and take us back. I could not have been happier

The room was nicely decorated and cleaned regularly. Any slight issues ( door handle broke ) were immediately put right. Dimitris was very helpful with any advice required and arranged car hire at a good rate for me, also a reasonably priced taxi to meet me at the airport on arrival. The views were very good - over the harbour area and most of the Chora area up past the windmills to the castle. Sunrise worth getting up early for too. Very quiet generally . A slight slope up from the main road and just a couple of short flights of steps to the apartment. 5 minutes walk to the restaurants in Chora. Walk down to the harbour takes about 20 mins at a steady pace., passes a supermarket and grocery shop. Take your time coming back up . No rush anyway. Worth hiring a car for a few days at least ( the main road is good for most local places - further on it turns to a rocky road surface in places so you might need a jeep type car if you want to be really adventurous and visit the more remote beaches ). But most traffic is light and flows at a slowish pace and there's at least 4 beaches within 20 minutes drive that are on the good road.

Location was excellent as we stayed in the viva mare studios near the port .The owner kindly changed our room as the traditional studio was beautiful but situated high up in the village. Excellent host very helpful and obliging.

If you are looking for a relaxed and peaceful stay, a gorgeous clean beach, low key cafes and restaurants (lots of fish dishes and seafood) it is THE perfect place to go. No noisy bikes / scooters. Perfect for couples (not much for children) wanting a stress free break.
Car hire would be beneficial to get to the Chora (a 15 minute drive) and enjoy the excellent views, and sample the lovely food. But it is possible to do without a car, using the bus or the "Astybus" which will pick you up on request.

Nice place if you prefer quiet holiday. Approx 15 minutes from Chora with car, taxi or bus. Sandy beach Maltezana is situated here.
Few local restaurants. We went for Chora to eat.
Boat trip from here to Islands is highly recommended. The kids had fun with swimming and jumping from the boat.
