Pleasant enough location - the furnishings were somewhat 'tired' and the breakfast unremarkable. You get what you pay for..

Tuscan Port and Hub
Livorno features one of the biggest harbours in Italy, from which ferries depart towards a long list of Mediterranean destinations, particularly the Tuscan Archipelago, Sardinia and Corsica. Called ‘Ideal Town’ during Renaissance times for its religious tolerance and its advanced trading regulations, it is surrounded by typical Tuscan countryside and Tyrrhenian beaches.
The city was declared a tax-free port in the 1580s, during the rule of Ferdinando de' Medici. The regulation protected the merchants and granted religious tolerance, attracting numerous Jewish and Protestant immigrants. The Counter-Reformation, the Napoleonic invasions, and the loss of its free-port status after the Italian Reunification were at the base of its commercial decline.
Don’t miss the canals of the Venice District, Piazza della Repubblica, and the Fortezza Nuova fortress. The spacious avenues and streets in the city centre contrast with the undulating landscape of its suburban areas. Most hotels in Livorno are located in the central area.

Livorno is a great base from where to explore Tuscany.
Livorno is a great base from where to explore Tuscany. The Quartiere Venezia, where embassies are, is the nicest place to stay & walk around. There’s an abundance of very good & also some gourmet restaurants. A walk along the seaside is recommended,
Unfortunately there’s some beautiful old historic buildings left to decay, namely the ancient thermal bath house ‚Coralle‘ and the adjacent grand hotel.

Livorno's coastline is picturesque.
Livorno's coastline is picturesque. Terrazza Mascagni is a great place to watch the sunset. The large central market has a vibrant atmosphere. The Piazza Grande is a good place to sit and have a coffee or a meal.
There are many attractions in nearby areas: Pisa, Siena, Lucca.

A great city.
A great city. Kind of dingy and edgy in places. lots of street art. I'd forgotten my favorite artist, Modigliani, was from here. Cuisine livornese is spectacular. Some of the finest seafood I've ever had. The old fortresses and Port area are very romantic. Hope I get to return some day. Loved il Porto Ristopecheria and Osteria della Venezia. Take the Moby Fantasy to Sardegna for a real treat. Getting around town isn't that easy no Uber I didn't understand the bus lines. Great little shopping area I think on what's called Grand Avenue

Livorno is a waterfront town, not BEACHFRONT.
Livorno is a waterfront town, not BEACHFRONT. We were looking for a relaxing day by the sea on a sandy beach, but this is not the city for that. It has beautiful views but the waterfront is rocky, not sandy, in which we were disappointed. It took all morning to figure out that to get to the beach we had to leave the town. $40 in cab fares to go to Tirrenia which is beautiful and sandy. Skip this town, go to Tirrenia instead if you're looking for a traditional sandy beach.

Livorno is a very special artistic and very Italian town to mine point of view. It reminds me of the modern Art which could be with a variety of faces: the dark side of realism as well as the hopeful side of modernism and the fantastically beautiful side of the antic architecture. For swimmers and nature lovers it leads you to the incredibly long and supercool beaches together with nature reservoirs like rocks water areas and so on.. For fashion people Livorno might be special in a variety of flea markets which could be very interesting and unique. There are lots of Art galleries around as well. The restaurants and cafes are also very Italian, with an incredible fish menu ( the freshest fish from the harbor of town ) and reasonable prices.

I like everything in Livorno.
I like everything in Livorno. Beautiful promenade and restaurants locals and bars. I can suggest a better organization for park the car inside all the city center area. The quartier Venezia is well served : restaurants, bars, locals and close to the port area . You can visit the central Market and eat the special food “5e5” in Gagarin place.
Location is perfect, right by the sea in a quiter area and just around 15min walk to the historic center. The staff, especially the ladies at the reception, were absolutely great, very nice and very helpful. We were recommended a great Italian restaurant for dinner just a few steps away. The hotel is very nice and stylish, the room are spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast was smaller variety but great croissants and wonderful coffee. It really did exceed our expectations
I’ve stayed at dozens of places in Livorno over the years and this is simply the best apartment I’ve stayed at. It’s very spacious, bright, perfectly clean and has everything you need. The location is perfect, right next to the central market and a few minutes walk from Via Grande but it’s quiet and you can barely hear anything from the outside.
Also, Giulio is an amazing host who picked me up at the train station and helped me with many things in Livorno.
Exceptional host Mr. Nodino with great care about us. He was so nice to explain us about the building history and Livorno city and what we can see around. Ammenities are top I do not have words to express how well we felt during our stay at Due Emme. And Livorno is a wonderful city with important history, impressive canals to explore, cosy trattorias. We built lovely memories.
It's a modern and clean apartment with rooms, and a shared bathroom which is quite elegant. A standard continental breakfast is provided but you have to serve yourself. Great value in a town where the hotels near the centre are pricey due to visitors taking advantage of Livorno's proximity to Pisa. Very detailed instructions were provided by the owner.
The bed was comfortable (firm bed). We arrived with a dog and they gave us a dog kit (not really necessary but a nice touch). The room, bathroom and balcony were quite spacious. The wall-to-wall window with sea view was nice. The property is right on the beach. The fascilities were quite new.
The property was very close to the port if you are taking a ferry from Livorno. Our stay was brief, however I wish we were stying there longer. The apartment was large and clean and would be great for families or multiple couples traveling together.
Comfortable bed. Good lighting and two suitcase stands -- a rare occurrence. Most hotels only provide one, for two people!!
Raffaele (host) had clearly given considerable thought to detail in setting up the apartment -- covered everything!
ideally located for all the best restaurants and a wander around the town and forts. the hotel is very clean and well designed. the staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. we only had 2 nights but could have stayed longer.
Very kind person, good location in Livorno. I stayed with my fiancè in dobule room. The room was a bit smal but so comfortable. The batroom and the kitchen were very clean, I really recommend to stay there.
Lovely, kind and accommodating staff -- good breakfast for Italy -- beautifully appointed and spacious room. Spotlessly clean, great shower and towels, comfy pillows.
The position is close to Livorno harbor, very easy to get the ferry boat to Corsica. Modern and clean hotel with very friendly staff. Reception is open 24/24.
