Highbury Colombo is truly exceptional, if you appreciate visual art, Sri Lankan culture and excellent architecture this is the place to stay in Colombo. Situated in a quiet residential street, the moment you walk in the gate you can feel the tranquility, the beautiful plants and trees along the path leading to the house add to a quiet and refined atmosphere. I learned from the very interesting hosts that the house was influenced by the work of the highly renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa. This didn’t surprise me as there is a wonderful flow to the building including the incredibly well designed suite I was very fortunate to stay in. I had a home cooked dinner and breakfast during my stay which was delicious.

Located in Colombo 5, Thimbirigasyaya, Lotus Colombo Guesthouse offers Ultra Private accomodation to guests. This was a great place to rest for a day in Colombo and explore some of the city. The room was really comfortable with everything we needed and it was great to have the private garden area to give it a sense of calm. The staff were really friendly, arranging an early check in and providing us with juice and sweets on arrival. There were also some great places to eat nearby (we especially liked Life's Good Kitchen - about a 5 min walk and The Greman Bakery - about 15 min walk).

Havelock City Hostel Colombo is situated in Timbirigasyaya. Staff on site can arrange airport transfers. Free Wi-Fi access is provided in the entire property. Breakfast is available on request. Beds were very comfortable. Aircon was a big relief for the humidity in April. Great little kitchen and common area space to do activities. Fridge was great to put drinks and food in as well. Great place to stay to find your feet after a travel day. Wasn’t much “culture” but was great nonetheless

It had a very homely athmosphere and was super clean. Worth the money. Staff were very welcoming and made you feel at home. Their restaurant downstairs made the place lively and interesting and a nice meal option.
