Perfect mountainstay in a hut which usually can only be accessed by hiking, skiing. Typical hutcharacter with a great host and lovely staff, shared bathrooms, rustique and easygoing. We had the doubleroom with comfy beds and a vanity. As its summer we could drive our car up and park at the property. Great mountainfoods and a full bar.

We had an apartment on 3rd floor (be aware of the high stairs :) ), very clean, convienient with a nice view from balcony. The place is located few houndred meters from main street - so you can hear the cars but it's really distant and not disturbing. It's built next to a barn with cows but it didnt cause any inconvenience - rather an attraction for kids. The place isn't new, but it's well kept with this unique "mountain impression" which you don't get in modern places. The owner (speaking german) showed us around (the apartment, seperate room for ski equipment, enough place to park) - very polite and friendly. It took us about 12 minutes to get to Leogang and around 20 to Saalbach - so its a good place for skiing in the area for a good price. Shops are located withing few minutes drive.

Cross-country ski trail is within 100 metres. Tennis and outdoor swimming is possible 2 km away. The Augenbründl Pension is 500 metres from the centre of Maria Alm, and restaurants and supermarkets are located there. Free private parking is possible.

The room was big and cosy, cleaned daily, with a terrace and a gorgeous view on the mountains. The breakfast was quite rich and had pretty much everything you want. The owners were very friendly and kind. Although placed a bit further from the center, the hotel was max. 10 minutes walk from the Natrunbahn. Overall a crazy low price for such high value, definitely coming again to this hidden gem in Maria Alm!
