Located in Cartago and only 11 km from Jardin Botanico Lankester, Dreams Lodge Orosi provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. This guest house offers accommodation with a balcony. Ujarras Ruins is 13 km away and Irazú Volcano is 40 km from the guest house.

We booked this lodge for the last 4 nights of our stay in Costarica, only as a place to sleep- as we planned to spend whole days out on excursions. We were actually sorry that we could not spend more time in the lodge itself. It has some lovely outdoor space where you can sit and relax. It also has a common kitchen which is very well equipped, so you can cook your meals there if you wish. There is also a swimming pool, but we did not use it as the weather was quite cold. Room was super clean and comfortable. We loved the local cat which was very friendly and liked to spend her time in the lodge :-) What makes absolute highlight of this lodge, is Ms. Jessica, who provided excellent service to us during our entire stay. She was always so nice and did lot more for us, than she had to! She also speaks very good English so we had no problems with communication. First morning, we ate breakfast in the lodge - the local Gallo Pinto. It was the best breakfast we had in the entire Costarica! Big portion and perfectly cooked and flavoured. You will love it! And the breakfast outdoor seating is very nice. For the rest of our mornings, we were actually leaving very early (around 5 am), and Jessica was so nice that she always prepared for us breakfast and left it in the fridge). If you have rented car, you can park it in front. You can also arrive by public bus (like we did), it is only around 5-10 minutes walk from the bus station. Just be careful, there is no signage with the hotel name, from the street it lookes like someone’s house. If you are at the entrance to the cemetery, you are already too far :-) search for black metal staircase - that is your place.

The coffee plantation experience. Sleeping and eating among the coffee fields and the lake. Superb local coffee served for breakfast but also available in the room. Rooms are actually small houses - very quiet and spacious (even if a little dated)

The owner, José Alavaraz, is an amazing host. He checked us in, walked in the rain to show us our unit, brought our supper to the room when my wife fell ill and served us a healthy and tasty breakfast. He also answered all our questions with enthusiasm and guided us regarding the acquisition of property in Costa Rica. Our unit had the most beautiful view of the waterfall. The forest walk was tranquil and just what we needed after a long walk. Altogether, this is an incredible sanctuary in a cray world.

Groundskeeper opened the gate for me and gave me instructions about how to find the guest house. Note: did not speak any English. I drove up the hill (4x4 recommended!!!) and he walked up and met me to show me the house and where all the light switches were located (not the most intuitive).

Staff were excellent Nice large room away from main complex Had kettle and fridge with small kitchenette area Lake view dining Very quiet when no wedding or buffet....but as cabins are a distance away is not really an issue.
