Price/quality wise = 10! -Female 2 bed dorm was spacious enough with comfortable double beds with socket next to it and lockers -Shared bathroom on the same floor with toilet + good & warm shower +one more bathroom available on another floor -WiFi worked well (also in the dorm) -Good location: the ferry dock, bus stops and the Main Street with many restaurants etc all within walking distance -Nice rooftop terrace with good views -Outside/patio area where you can sit/hang out -Drinking water for a small fee -Out of review scope but FYI: Good & cheap laundry service available from a very nice lady around the corner

The owner was super nice. We booked 1 room for 2 nights (for 4 people) and he offered us 2 separate room with a huge terrace with a view at the lake. For a really good price. It was amazing to watch beautiful sunrise from there. We would stay even longer but because of our plans, we needed to leave. Otherwise, there was no problem to spend even more nights there.

It is a pretty bare bones sort of facility, but well worth the price. I felt like I was massively underpaying for the room that was assigned to me. The owners/manager couple were incredibly sweet and the wife speaks a fair amount of English, which I really appreciated. The location was absolutely perfect. Right in front of an ATM and where the buses/shuttles stop. The cathedral right behind it with the couple of lanes behind the cathedral filling up with cheap street food vendors in the night who are all far better than even the better reviewed restaurants in San Juan. What I loved the most though are the grounds of the property. Covered from end to end in fruit trees and plenty of avocados lying around for the taking. I also slept like a baby in the room located at the back, away from the main building. The wifi in the main building was super fast and never spotty. The kitchen, however, didn't seem well equipped enough to cook, but maybe it's just because I never asked. There's a stove, free water dispensers, a microwave, a fridge and, if I remember correctly, an oven. I also happened to meet this fantastic fun woman, Oly, on my first day there who is a local, speaks English incredibly well and took me up to the Mayan nose hike and through a local Saturday market for a super good price.. Ask the people at hostel for her in case looking at doing the hike. A guide is definitely recommended since the trails aren't marked in most places and it would be pretty easy to get lost in the dark. Oly just happened to be friends with everyone up there and it resulted in a couple of benefits in terms of free food and transport. On the weekend mornings there are second hand clothes/bag sellers who come and set up within the compound and one can find some really valuable stuff for dirt cheap. I found authentic good condition vintage coach and Ralph Lauren bags for 20-25q! All in all a great time here and I would definitely stay again if back.

Lovely accommodation, in a super safe area, walking distance to the center of San Juan. Beautiful art in the building and in our room. Nice terrace with hammocks and great view on the lake. Spacious, clean rooms. Shower has good water pressure. And last but not least, super friendly host (and family members). We had locked ourselves in the room at night and got on the wrong shuttle bus in the morning (which was arranged by her btw :-)) yet she always stayed friendly and helpful at any time! This woman deserves a medal for her patience with us :-p Muchas gracias por todo!
