The property was well located, a close few minute walk to the port, impeccably clean, and very reasonably priced. It was the owners that made it very special, they conducted fantastic tours and trips of all kinds. I did a snorkeling tour, which was Exceptional, better than snorkeling Hawaii. They really know this island, and work hard to make sure every guest has a peek, enjoyable experience. I loved Zamami Island, it was super easy to get around, and very chill. Fantastic experience, and this guesthouse has my highest recommendation.

What a cool little place. Clean, tidy, lovely staff. It is a welcoming place where you can feel at home. The facilities are good and it was clean and tidy. There seemed to be options to work for free accommodation But I don’t know what the terms for this are as I didn’t opt for it. The burgers and pizzas looked amazing too and I was really sad not to be able to try them while I was there (they closed the restaurant for a few days). Good AC in the rooms. Lots of space for drying stuff after you’ve been to the beach!

Our stay at Kucha was one of the highlights of our 8 week trip. Takaka-san is a very helpfull and sweet host and great cook. The traditional Japanese house has everything you need from snorkel gear to beach towels to a washing machine. It's not so far from the port, we rented bicycles but the hills are quite steep so the bus would also be an option. We really wished we could stay longer because it felt like paradise! Also, Kiki the cat is very cute.

The best!! I stayed two different times for over two weeks total. The Japanese style house is very clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The free shuttle to the beach every morning is very convenient or you can walk to the port and take the public bus when the ferry comes, or just walk and visit Mt. Teruyama Observation deck on the way there or on the way home. Great sunsets!
