But first, Laon is probably the prettiest city you've never heard of. It's a little difficult to get to as it sits high on a plateau, but it's worth getting there. Many great places to dine at and attractions to see. Just go! The B&B is run by a young couple with a daughter, and it is just fantastic. Huge rooms, very comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious. Our host was extremely helpful. We stayed two nights and could easily stayed two more except for our schedule.

Pierre is an excellent host Breakfast was great, with fresh fruit and you could squeeze your own fresh orange juice; Pierre even produced scrambled egg. The house is old and quaint but our room was comfortable and spacious with a good walk in shower. There does not seem to be a problem with parking right outside. We came by train. Take a #4 bus from the station and get off at St Martin, only 1.20 euro. Laon is well worth the visit with relatively few tourists. The cathedral is magnificent, must be one of the finest in France. Some good restaurants and if you want a lighter meal, try a platter from the Fromagerie des Remparts.

The breakfast was a bit poore for the amount of money paid. The host was very nice, the room was very clean I liked it a lot. I will definitely come back.
