The host, Elaine, was exceptional. Our room was at the back of the house and nice and quiet. Complimentary sips of whisky and chocolate helped us relax after a terrible travel day. Easy walking to city center and train station. Vegan breakfast was delicious.

Moffat Independent Hostel adalah hostel mewah yang ramah dan dikelola keluarga, yang telah diatur dengan penuh semangat untuk para penggemar outdoor. The owners made this place look super beautiful and comfy! For a hostel, my room was small (only 4 beds) and it came with an ensuite bathroom! (It does mean a little less "acoustic privacy", but also the luxury of having to share with a maximum of 3 other people!) The owners also took their time to give me recommendations and assistance, even though they were super busy with other jobs. The kitchen is fully equipped and for eating and hanging out there are a lovely dining room (with a record player!) and a comfy games room inside and more seating outside - it's just beautiful, I highly recommend a visit!

This is our third time staying at Thornbank House and it never fails to disappoint. Rang up on the morning for an early check in due to a poor nights sleep the night before and Fiona was very accomodating which I thank her immensely for. Wonderful breakfast and location.
