Located just 1.2 km from Sultan's Palace, Griya Asih provides accommodation in Yogyakarta with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a 24-hour front desk. Maria was excellent with helping us with transportation and things to do and where to eat. Bram was also very attentive to our needs at breakfast. We were there for 3 nights and each morning was a different delicious and beautifully presented breakfast. The location was ideal for walking to the sites. Other than morning prayer at 4:45, it’s a very quiet location.

Featuring an outdoor swimming pool and views of mountain, Blue Garden Yogyakarta is a recently renovated guest house located in Yogyakarta, 11 km from Museum Sonobudoyo. It is out in a rural area well outside the city. Very peaceful and relaxing. Room was super clean and air conditioned with a large bathroom ( no a/c) and mini bar. ( Beer and cokes only) It has a small but good restaurant ( reserve meals in advance) and a lovely garden and pool. Looks out on rice fields with birds and nature all around. It is close.to a mosque and you can definitely hear the call to prayer. It added to the atmosphere for us and they turn down the loudspeaker for the 4am call to prayer!. You can borrow the bikes and ride through the working rice fields leased from the sultan. You certainly get to see authentic rural Javanese life but its not for those who want any kind of nightlife! Beer available but no wine, so bring your own if you want to relax over a glass while getting your authenticity!

Ndalem Suryo Saptono Guest House is situated in Yogyakarta, 2.7 km from Yogyakarta Tugu Train Station, 3.1 km from Tugu Monument, as well as 3.1 km from Malioboro Mall. The place was surprisingly amazing. Will definitely go back. Picked me up and dropped me off at the railway station, as well as to the Ramayana Ballet. They also let me use their bicycle, which is a great way to explore all the temples in the area.
