Featuring a restaurant and cafe on site, Blabjorg Resort is in the fishing village of Borgarfjordur Eystri, 71 km from Egilsstadir. We arrived when the kitchen was closed, but they brought us tomato soup and fish stew (both dishes were delicious). Breakfast was nice. The place where we went to see the puffins in the morning is 6-7 minutes away by car

The bed is extremely comfortable! The location is perfect and as it has little light nearby we were able to see the northern lights.

Finnstaðir has barbecue facilities and a garden. A hot tub is available for guests. Free WiFi is offered. All units at the guest house are equipped with a seating area and a TV. The house is right outside the town of Egilsstadir, very easy to find. We were met by a very friendly owner and his two lovely dogs. He was extremely helpful and the house was truly a gem! Decorated with old-style furniture, but very cosy, clean and it has a hot tub outside with an amazing view! We wish we could have stayed longer and can definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to spend time at East Iceland!

Overlooking Lake Lagarfljót, this guest house is 5 minutes’ drive from central Egilsstadir. All rooms include free WiFi access, a fridge and a private bathroom with shower. Very clean and cozy place. The owner was very helpful. We enjoyed our staying there.
