One of the best-equipped gites we have been in. Nothing has been missed in this fantastic building conversion. Spacious, comfortable, well-equipped inside and out. Great layout, lots of outside facilities and a great private pool. Could not ask for more. Mark and Heather are the perfect hosts, discreet but on hand if you need them. The horses, dogs and cats make for a lovely rural holiday in this beautiful part of France. Highly recommended (but don't tell everyone !)

We stayed 11 nights in La Porcherie. The accommodation was excellent, and as a couple, it suited our needs perfectly, it felt like home with everything you could possibiy need and more, and all top quality too and such good value The surrounding garden was beautiful and very well maintained, clearly a lot of thought has gone into it. Wherever you sat there was something interesting or beautiful to see. The views from the pool area over the landscape were stunning and the wild life and chickens added to the calmness and tranquility of La Retreat. The pool area was fab, plenty of space to sit, and even a well stocked bar. The pool was lovely. Always super clean and inviting, despite being a little chilly but it was only May, so I shouldn't complain. The cherry on the cake was Red, from the moment we arrived to our departure, he made us feel so welcome, always made us smile and laugh, made sure we had everything we needed, extra wood for the wood burner on a cool evening, to the best places to visit or dine. Thank you Red, for your warmth and kindness. We took the opportunity to venture outside La Retreat and explored beyond as we were there for a long stay. . A truly beautiful part of France, so much to see and enjoy.. Cheers. 🥂
