I had booked this place because we were going to do an activity in the area, it was canceled on that day but I kept this booking even though it can be a little difficult to get to (I would recommend taking a taxi from the train station, bus service is highly irregular).It seemed like it would be a good experience (staying at a Traditional Japanese house in the country). I was right. Kenji is an excellent and helpful host. Our room was one of the most beautiful we stayed in, lots of detail: carvings , kami dana, beams etc. The beds=futons were warm and comfortable. It was quiet and you could see stars at night. You are near the river and can see/ cross one of the famous bridges. This is rural Japan and I loved it.

Location so wonderful, very lush with the sound of the river. Love how the base has been renovated so thoughtfully The two little boys were enchanting, and very happy to sit with us which was very special. Homemade breakfasts were fabulous

My family has very comfortable stay at his house. I would recommend this 100%. Thanks.

Just beside the Aso Submersible Bridge. The quality of the house is so excellent that it is too underrated and the photos don’t do justice. The actual house seems to be so better and witty visiting.

The tiny house is very well designed, and we really liked the porch, BBQ outside and access down to the river. Highly recommended stay and the hosts helpful with all questions. We recommend a visit to the nearby Aoshotenjofuku Temple 粟生聖天 定福寺

River, Mountain Retreat at 四万十Accommodation is situated in Mihara Village. The property features mountain and garden views. Rosie was incredibly welcoming and had a lot of wonderful advice for local activities. The house was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was fantastic! Very peaceful location, great to relax in nature
