Guesthouse SHIGI is located in Nakatsugawa, 46 km from Gero Station, 24 km from Ōi, as well as 24 km from Enakyo Wonderland. It was truly a pleasure to stay in this 110 year old traditional Japanese house. There were no other guests at the time and we had the whole house to ourselves. The house is tastefully furnished and there is even a new trail bicycle available for guests. The host was extremely helpful and friendly. He offered to make reservations for us at a local restaurant and even drove us (at a time that best suited us) to the trailhead for our hike at Magome.

Offering quiet street views and a shared lounge, Guest House Motomiya is set in the Magome district of Nakatsugawa, 20 km from Enakyo Wonderland and 40 km from Japan Taisho Village. This was probably our favourite overnight stay of our entire trip. The hosts were lovely, the food was fantastic, the room and beds were incredibly comfortable. If we could have we would have happily stayed longer. We have no doubt that we intend to go back in the future.

Offering mountain views, Guesthouse Nedoko is an accommodation situated in Nakatsugawa, 21 km from Ōi and 21 km from Enakyo Wonderland. My mother and I stayed here on a mother-daugher holiday. We were welcomed with incredible hospitality and kindness. The woman who looked after us was so accomodating and helped us have a comfortable stay. The rooms were well outfitted and provided a stunning view of the mountains. The bathroom facilities were immaculate. There were great snacks avaliable for purchase at a good price which was an added bonus.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, Guesthouse Gifu SUAI is situated in Gifu, 29 km from Nagoya Castle and 30 km from Nagoya Station. Hosts are friendly, warm, accomodating and attentive. Very clean and homely. Lively pets around, which was a welcomed change :) A 30 min walk from Gifu JR, hosts happily dropped us to the station at checkout. I believe you can organise pick up and drop off with the host. Regardless, a 30 min walk on flat ground is completely possible and should not deter anyone. However there is a local line which is 13 min walk from the house.

Offering a sun terrace and views of the garden, Tajimi Guest House is set in the middle of nature, 3 km from Tajimi Station. Everything especially the beautiful room with a garden view and the wonderful host Yumiko

Just a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and Takayama Nohi Bus Center, Guesthouse Tomaru offers an renovated 80-year old Japanese-style accommodation. Really nice hostel, in the center of the town.

A 6-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station, 力車イン Rickshaw inn offers non-smoking Japanese rooms and Western rooms with free Wi-Fi, an LCD TV and a private bathroom. A free-use kitchen is on site. This liitle inn has characters. The amenities, cleanliness and location are excellent.

Located 800 metres from Takayama Station and 3 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village in the centre of Takayama, Long Stay Takayama provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

Attractively set in the centre of Takayama, ROMANSTAY offers a balcony, air conditioning, free WiFi and flat-screen TV. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We stayed for one night during the Takayama festival as a couple but it can accommodate more guests. The open-air bath was fun and easy to use with privacy.

Situated in Gero and only 28 km from Gero Station, 1日1組限定 田舎体験 古民家宿 樹々庵 Juju-an features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Absolutely everything! We were looking for a true traditional Japanese home stay experience and we got exactly what we wanted. Aki is such a great host and really makes you feel at home. If you're looking for an authentic Japanese experience, then you need to stay here! Thank you Aki, we will definitely be coming back again.
