First of all, that's not a soulless hotel for privacy, that's a cozy house that's being serviced by a very heartful landlady. A place where you can dive into an atmosphere of family with deep conversations during the meal or tea. About the house: there's a safe place to park a bike. A terrace and a rooftop (!) to enjoy the sunsets or city views or to sit alone and read a book. By the way, there's a decent library of English books in the house! About the room: it was the biggest bed I've ever seen. Not a king-size, a sheikh-size 😅 AC and everything was great. Breakfast was included, and you may ask for a dinner as well, and for the reasonable price landlady will cook it for you. National cuisine, very tasty! Located in the suburbs of Colombo city, 55TG Boutique Suites offers an authentic home stay experience in a two story 1920's period house with a garden, outdoor pavilion, living room and a lounge. Could not be happier with our stay at 55tg. We arrived extremely late but the boys were there to get us with a smile. The room was absolutely lovely. Bed was superb....slept like a baby every night. The staff could not have been more accommodating even getting us things that were not in the menu. We spent a supurb evening with great conversation with Thanuj who is the creator of this beautiful space. Cannot fault the food or generous hospitality of a wonderful boutique hotel in colombo.

Amazing boutique hotel, gorgeously designed with lush garden and beautiful covered rooftop terrace, lovely room, exceptional food and best of all stellar staff, service and management. We felt completely at home from the moment we arrived and wished we could have stayed longer. So friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nice area and easy to get anywhere in the city.

Located just minutes from the Colombo Fort railway station, this tiny guesthouse was perfect for our stay. Our room had everything we needed, plus a balcony. Breakfast was terrific and the staff welcoming and helpful.

Situated in a quiet residential street, the moment you walk in the gate you can feel the tranquility, the beautiful plants and trees along the path leading to the house add to a quiet and refined atmosphere. I learned from the very interesting hosts that the house was influenced by the work of the highly renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa. This didn’t surprise me as there is a wonderful flow to the building including the incredibly well designed suite I was very fortunate to stay in. I had a home cooked dinner and breakfast during my stay which was delicious.
