Featuring an outdoor swimming pool and views of sea, Solar de Santo André is a recently renovated guest house located in Ponta Delgada, 12 km from Pico do Carvao. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The accommodation provides a sauna, free WiFi throughout the property and family rooms. I had the best time at Solar de Santo Andre. Eduarda is a great hostess and the whole team at Solar de Santo Andre is very accommodating, hospitable, helpful and friendly. The house has been painstakingly renovated and the old rooms from earlier times have been made incredibly beautiful. The rooms, which are open to the public, are reminiscent of how Ponta Delgada used to be and how people used to live there. The guest rooms are very modern and equipped with all the necessary details to make you want to spend time there. I had booked the studio and was absolutely satisfied. The rooms are nicely furnished, are cleaned daily and you have everything you need for your vacation. Breakfast is served in the kitchen with a large table where all guests can sit down. The breakfast offers everything your heart desires: different types of bread, a selection of cold meats and cheese, fruit, yoghurt, coffee or tea is served as well as a homemade juice that varies daily. All guests meet at breakfast and the room invites you to chat. The garden with pool is perfect for relaxing after an eventful day. I had a wonderful time at the Solar de Santo Andre and can only recommend anyone to stay there!

Located in Madalena, Casa-do-Mar features accommodation with seating area. Featuring a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. The guest house provides sea views, a sun terrace, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. We had a wonderful stay at Casa do Mar. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Relaxing atmosphere and beautiful view of the sea and Faial island on one side, and of Mount Pico on the other. Hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Ideal location - walkable distance from Madalena center and from several natural pools, and a 10-minute drive from the airport. The breakfast is fresh and delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would absolutely recommend!

The guest house offers city views, a sun terrace, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. The host was very friendly and helpful. The location is amazing, close to all the points of interest, shops and bars. Especially good if you don’t rent a car. The rooms and common areas were very spacious.

I want to recommend this accommodation to everyone who comes to the azores! A great accomodation and an even grater host! He really cares for your wellbeing and for you to make your stay as enjoyable as possible! He provided us with every help and assistance, from tips where to go out for dinner to rainy-day-program, with bath towels for each day and even bathtowels to go to the hot springs (which are a must do in our opinion but thats another story) The room was very nice, clean and had everything we needed (thanks for the anti-moskito-plug! Made our nights very peaceful). In the shared area is even a fully equipped kitchen, there is coffe and even a garden to sit outside and enjoy breakfast. Locationwise you can get to the city center via a short walk, there is one excellent fish restaurant down the street and you have a parking opportunity suitable for mainland europeans ;) Everything you need is close by. Arrivillage, a property with a garden, is situated in Arrifes, 7.6 km from Pico do Carvao, 19 km from Sete Cidades Lagoon, as well as 20 km from Lagoa Verde. There is a private entrance at the homestay for the convenience of those who stay. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. I loved the location of the place, it's in a village near Ponta Delgada and you really get a feeling you're one with the locals. Jose, our host, is incredible. He thinks of everything, you will have everything you need at hand and if there is any kind of problem he will always be there to help and recommend all the best places to visit. Highly recommend!

Located within 500 metres of Praia do Corpo Santo and 600 metres of Praia da Vinha da Areia in Vila Franca do Campo, Pousada da Vila features accommodation with seating area. This guest house provides air-conditioned accommodation with a patio. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen and luggage storage space for guests. Excellent location, service, and value for money. The hosts are thoughtful and helpful, and it is fun to share the kitchen with guests and exchange experiences.

Offering pool with a view and sea view, Thalassa Villas is situated in Ponta Delgada, less than 1 km from São Roque Beach and a 15-minute walk from Milicias Beach. This beachfront property offers access to a terrace and free WiFi. The guest house has family rooms. We stayed in the unit on the first floor that led out to the pool. It is bright, modern and very comfortable. The apartment had everything that we needed for our 1.5 week trip, including a crib and high chair for our baby. The hosts were incredibly friendly, accommodating and quick to respond to any of our requests. The location of the apartment is very central and was a great base for exploring the rest of the island.

Located in Horta, within less than 1 km of Praia da Conceição and 2.8 km of Praia de Porto Pim, Estrela do Atlântico provides accommodation with a garden and a bar, and free WiFi. The guest house features family rooms. One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in 45 years of travel. Artistic and funky but also warm, friendly and totally unpretentious. The hotel is an old style property, airy and light with big windows and views to the Pico volcano. It is like a gem of an oasis amidst more recent development on the edge of town, but is only ten mins walk down to the big square and port. Breakfast in the spacious dining room is exceptional and the ladies who run the hotel are charming and helpful. We had the extra benefit and unexpected bonus of the Suite, which was like having your own flat with a terrace! There are some trendy restaurant options down the hill with good food - but rather pricey wine, but we found a couple of traditional older places (Medalhas & Lima) that we liked. For whale-watching, Naturalist are a good science-based outfit and if you are short of time or transport they do an excellent half day island tour too - very informative and not touristy. You can do both in one day!

Located in center, parking on the street not hard to find, receptionist prepared for us a map with places to see, shared equipped kitchen, very nice living room/reception.
