Ester's place should be called Ester's Palace! It is a gorgeous home with loads of space, beautifully arranged. The host family is lovely and they looked after us superbly. The location is very good and easy to find. The nearby Avenida is gorgeous with some nice places to eat. 😃

stray cat hostel was absolutely perfect! we came from Santa Teresa staying one night to thereafter travel to puerto viejo. the hostels location is close both to terminal 7-10 and to MEPE! the hostel was clean, nice kitchen and the staff superfriendly! I must give a big shoutout to Cesar, who introduced us so well, but most of all send me my T-shirt that I forgot, by bus down to puerto viejo. That is a service you cannot expect from someone working in the reception at a hostel, but there was no hesitation at all, he went to the terminal, sent me my shirt and it arrived the day after. I’m super thankful for that! We just stayed one night, but if I ever go back to San Jose I will definitely stay at Stray cat!
