They can all speak English and the cleaning staff is also very good and friendly. The receptionist also helped me with so earings such as getting the covid test and helping with my deliveries. The room was very comfortable and I will return anytime.

Located in the Jinniu district in Chengdu, 700 metres from Wenshu Monastery, Chengdu Lazybones Hostel Templeside Poshpacker boasts air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi throughout the property. All was well. I enjoyed my stay.

Chengdu Flipflop Hostel Poshpacker is perfectly located in downtown Chengdu, right next to Taikooli, the core of Chengdu’s downtown commercial center. We had such a perfect time. Everyone is helpful and friendly and the coffee upstairs is amazing - if you’re from a coffee-drinking country like us you will be reminded of home. If you can try and do the walking tour, it’s a great way to immerse yourself in some of the history of Chengdu and Mix (the guide and hostel manager) is really good fun and very insightful. He and his sister are amazing hosts and I can wholeheartedly recommend any of their hostels. 5 stars is often a review given under some small duress but this one is genuine because I have a few minutes to spare and we have had such a great stay!

Highly recommended by the Lonely Planet Guidebook, Teddy Bear Hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Mount Emei Scenic Area. It houses a teddy bear themed Café and accommodation with free internet access. The staff were really helpful and the location was perfect for catching the bus out to explore the mountain. The hotel was well kept, clean, and had what I needed.

Centrally located in Chengdu, Chengdu Dreams Travel International Youth Hostel is situated immediately opposite Wuhou Temple Museum and Jinli Street. The staff was very accomodating and understanding. They even let me extend my check-out time free of charge. The facilities were clean and the beds are very comfortable. I only stayed for one night but this will be my choice for any of my trips to Chengdu.

Only 3 minutes' walk from the Temple of Marquis Wu (Wu Hou Ci), Holly's Hostel in Chengdu provides affordable dormitory and private rooms with free Wi-Fi. The hostel is located in a very interesting alley surrounded by tibetan shops and it is right next to a temple you can go and visit as well. From there you can reach the city centre easily on foot or with the metro. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable with good WiFi. Since it is in a secondary alley it is also very quiet. I think the lady at the reception can also speak a bit of English but we mainly talked in Chinese. I also had breakfast there and it was really good (chinese style breakfast) with mantou, rice, a few vegetables, soups, tea and eggs. The staff also helped me book a place for the Sichuan Opera (do it well in advanced if you want good spots, in tourist season it is hard to find any seats at all) and I also booked a mahjong lesson with them and it was super fun, you basically play with the staff for at least 3 hours and get complimentary tea and fruit.
