Situated within 47 km of Ukumari Zoo and 35 km of Pereira's Botanical Garden, Casa Salento offers rooms in Salento. The location is great just a few minutes from the main plaza. The room was clean and was quite big. The breakfast was good and it was possible to select different options. As for the staff, they were very welcoming and nice.

Maybe the nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed at. The rooms were so comfortable with lots of nice touches. The common area was great, especially the pool. Lots of thought has gone into all the details including free coffee all day, board games, etc. The food was great too. We extended our stay as we didn’t want to leave

Set in Armenia, 17 km from National Coffee Park, Casa Campesina Hostel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. We booked here for an overnight stay to get from Salento to Bogota (as many people do here) and it was the perfect decision. When you arrive in Armenia bus terminal just take a Taxi which should costs 5K Pesos and brings you there in 5 minutes. If they haven’t changed it yet, the pin on google maps points to the wrong house on the other side of the street, but for the taxi drop-off that doesn‘t matter much. You are welcomed by a super friendly elderly couple, José and Estrella. Simple, cosy and quiet rooms with one shared bathroom on the same floor – everything very clean. They serve you a very decent colombian breakfast on the veranda in front of a beautiful garden, sometimes even a bird-watching spectacle included ;-) It was definitely one of the most lovely experiences with hosts in our 3-month Colombia journey. To get back to the bus terminal on the next morning, Estrella just called a taxi for us. It arrived 5 minutes after. Everything super easy and enjoyable.

Set in Salento, 49 km from Ukumari Zoo, Reserva Guadalajara - Cocora Valley offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. This 5-star hostel offers a bar. Great property in a lovely location. 45 minutes on foot from Salento or a short Jeep or taxi ride away. This is a perfect place to come and reset from all of the chaos that some of the bigger cities in Colombia offer. Coming here was one of the best decisions that we have made on our Colombia trip. The elephant rock horse ride with Diego and Guillermo was an unforgettable experience which I could not recommend booking enough. The staff are all lovely, highly attentive and are happy to help in any way which they can. The breakfast is amazing and hearty and both times we ate dinner, the food was spot on. We’d recommend the trout in garlic paired with a nice glass, or bottle, of vino blanco! The hot chocolate at breakfast. Amazing! We did the Cocora valley loop trail in 4hrs (inclusive of a stop). We hike quite regularly, this trail was great, at times not so well signposted but we got round after a detour or two. We’d class it as a moderate trail, with two pay booths along the way and also facilities to buy drinks etc if needed. We walked from the reserve to Salento and picked a Jeep up to take us to the trail head. Finca Ocaso was the coffee tour that we took (also via Jeep from Salento. And Filandia is a trip well worth recommending especially on Saturday or Sunday when the locals are all out- just be sure to book your Jeep from Salento in advance as this service can sell out pretty quickly. 10/10 for Reserva Guadalajara

Set in Manizales and with Manziales Cable Car Station reachable within 12 km, Hacienda Venecia Hostel offers a tour desk, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a terrace. Very welcoming and really helpful with everything we needed. They made us feel like at home. There is a mini market so you can cook yourself, but also the breakfast and lunch offered is really delicious! We could use the pool as well and had a really relaxing time! The coffee tour is super interesting and we would definitely recommend it!

Located in Salento, 44 km from Ukumari Zoo, Casa Mochila provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a bar. Our stay at Casa Mochila was amazing. Pat was very kind and helped us with everything we needed. We also got cake for my birthday. We would reccomend everyone to stay here. It is very easy to catch the bus to Salento in front of the hostel, just wave to the driver and they will stop for you. The breakfast in the morning is very tasty! If you want to chill here; there are very nice hammocks available. 10/10 points for this place and the service!
