Set on five acres, Oaklands boasts a dam, a frog pond the most stunning sunsets with the sky often lighting up with pink clouds. The full moon-rise over Sugarloaf is truly a magical and mesmerising sight. Whether you while away the hours overlooking the theatre of wildlife from the patio enjoying a glass or two of wine, take a stroll down the beautiful garden, sit in the stunning circle of oak trees or choose a book from the library room and sit in front of the cosy fire, you will be sure to unwind and relax.

We wish you a warm welcome! Heather grew up in Western Australia near the Rabbit-Proof Fence. Carl grew up in deepest darkest Sussex, UK We have been living in London for 15 years and returning in 2018 to Sydney via train through Siberia to Bejing. Heather is a practicing artist and has exhibited around the world. In the future Heather will be teaching art from her studio here at Oaklands. We love to garden and dream of a future of creative possibilities at Oaklands such as sculptures, installations, and other quirky fun discoveries for our guests. We would encourage you to walk around the garden and enjoy the space and dream a little too. Conveniently, only 5 minutes drive, is our local cafe and vegetable shop, Hartley Fresh, which provides a hearty full breakfast to set you up for the day of bush walks in the Blue Mountains or just stroll along the ridge road nearby in John Grant road. Lithgow is located a 15 minute drive Noth West from Oaklands where you will find most amenities and shops for your needs. Blackheath is 20 minutes South East and has several antique shops to browse and many coffee shops to enjoy and of course the many lookouts including our favorite, Govetts leap lookout. Oaklands is also a great base from which to explore the central west towns of Bathhurst, Oranage or Mudgee or to visit Obero and Jenolan Caves.
