Cosquer Cottage is a traditional Breton stone and thatched dwelling set in the picturesque village of Saint Nicolas des Eaux. The property has old beams and thick walls, it has been sympathetically styled to keep as many of the original features as possible whilst offering guests modern conveniences.
In the unlikely event of any problems arising during your stay your hosts are on hand to deal with them quickly and efficiently.
The canal is just a short walk from the property, along its banks can be found a local bar, restaurant and creperie, seasonal variations apply to their opening hours. The nearest supermarket is in Plumeliau about a 5 minute drive, where you can find additional bars, restaurants, a boulangerie, Post Office and pharmacy. There are canoes, paddle boards, pedalos, bicycles and electric boats for hire at reasonable rates by the canal. Fishing permits are available to buy from the local hotel. Baud and Pontivy have swimming pools. Lac du Guerledan, Brittany’s largest lake with its water sports and lakeside beaches is about 20 mins drive. Carnac, with its famous standing stones, Vannes, Auray, Josselin & Malestroit with their beautiful architecture are all around half an hours drive. Lorrient and it’s huge submarine base is also worth a visit. If you like boats, La Trinite sur Mer has a beautiful marina.
