The Garden Room at Sleepy Hollow is newly renovated and in a separate building to our home with its own entrance and parking. It is very private and although near the owners property they will not interfere with your stay in any way, unless you require any help or advice. A quality full Irish Breakfast will be served in the main house daily and this is included in the price. The Garden room has its own Nespresso cofffee machine and kettle and freshly baked scones will be served on arrival. The Garden Room is very spacious, 300 sqft with king size bed and seating area, fully tiled shower room with wc and wash hand basin. TV and wifi in room. It is in a rural, quiet location, very close to the sea with view of the garden. It is an ideal location for couples looking to get away from it all and to enjoy the peace and tranquility around us. Situated in a large 1.6 acre garden. We have a small Miniature Schnauzer dog, which has free run of the garden, but will not bother you....
We moved here from the UK over 20 years ago and built our home here in Louisburgh. We have been involved in the catering industry for many years, but are now semi retired and enjoying life in the Wild West of Ireland. My husband makes driftwood art pieces which he sells locally and we grow a lot of our own produce here in the garden. We are keen fisherpersons and love gardening and walking our dog on the local beaches.
We are situated 2 miles from Louisburgh village, which is on the Wild Atlantic Way - there are many beautiful beaches and coastal walks within a few minutes of our house. From our house you can walk through an ancient oak wood to The Old Head Beach (blue flag). In Louisburgh village there are coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, supermarket and a petrol station - a wonderful book shop and craft shop which features works by Mayo crafters - including myself - Driftwood Art made from wood collected locally on our beaches. Within a short drive several golf courses can be reached. There is windsurfing, sea fishing and salmon fishing, horseriding, foraging and many other pursuits locally. Equipment can be hired locally for many of the activities. The famous Croagh Patrick Mountain and Visitor Centre are 15 km away.
