We are both misplaced New England'ers having lived in many parts of the world. Our latest home was in Phoenix ,AZ where we lived for 12 years and where we recently celebrated our marriage. Ochenta y Dos [an urban bed & breakfast] has been our labor of love since its inception about 3 years ago. We both are world travelers and wanted to create a space that is appealing to everyone. We feel with each guest the world gets a little smaller and allot more friendlier, both are accomplished cooks and conversationalists. Merida is our home now and our business, we live on property with our collection of rescues, Mini, Max, Mario and Mo all well behaved small dogs that are respectful of all the guests. We would pbe please to welcome you to our home and our bed & breakfast.

We are in the heart of the beautifully preserved colonial city of Merida; Ochenta y Dos features world-class accommodations in an urban feel. Ochenta y Dos is an adult only property that opened in September 2015. This newly constructed building with a historic design, and with a keen eye on preservation, is is the latest addition to the boutique accommodation market in Centro Merida. Built with smart home technology and advanced environmental sustainability, it does make Ochenta y Dos a unique property in Historic Mexico. All our guests will feel like at home during their stay here in a safe and private environment. All guest rooms and outdoors spaces are accessed through a security gate and then through the main house into a secluded poolside oasis. We offer privacy, security, and comfort for everyone. With four adult poolside guest rooms and the maximum of eight guests at any given time, Ochenta y Dos is perfect for a quiet getaway or an alternative stay for the business traveler. Each morning a prepared hot breakfast is served in the dining room. Each evening we host an intimate happy hour for our guests with snacks. "Arrive as a guest, Leave as a friend"

We live on the edge of the Barrio Santiago one of the more revitalized area of centro Merida. Safe, quiet and a little off the beaten path by a 5 min walk. Our side of town is quieter and offers many local eateries, bars and shops, all with in a short walk. With an organised grid system of the street, Merida is completely walk-able and getting lost very difficult. The local buses and taxis are found easily and very reasonable. Barrio Santa Ana is a great start to your walking and eating tour of Merida, close by within 20 minutes, its the beginning of the famed Paseo Monetjo Boulevard and the edge of the historic center. Make Ochenta y Dos your hub for exploring Merida and the Yucatan.
