Very very nice.
Very very nice. I went there by bike and did the " hike" then. The view is beautiful I did't wanted to leave. There where a few other people ( 9 am) but it was far from crowded. The path is coverd by trees but still u will sweat. I am a serious bad climper but I Managed the last Part easily. Highly recommended. The entrancfee is 1000 slr now.

I was there for poya in March.
I was there for poya in March. My guesthouse arranged a tuk at 5am to take me . The climb is not easy and can be dangerous. BUT the sunrise was incredible. Well-worth teh effort. Take headlamps if you can. you should have both hands free and you need water.

The trail leading up the rock was challenging, especially the latter part. Wearing of shorts and sleeveless clothing are not allowed within the temple premises (which you have to pass through to get to the trail) but the temple provides you with scarves to cover up, if necessary.

Go for sunrise!
Go for sunrise! If you have to pick between Pidurangala and Sigariya I would recommend Pidurangala. You get the best view from here of the land and of SIgariya Rock, which looks stunning. It's much less crowded and a much quieter, more interesting walk as it gets tricky to navigate at points, but doesn't take very long. One of my favourite short climbs!MaxineAustralia - 10Scored 10

Great, be prepared to scramble over a few large boulders near the top. Great views and more of a wow than lion rock ( and way cheaper) The temple loan saris for free to walk the 200m across its grounds before you start the climb

Very nice sunrise at the top, wake up very early and you will need less than 30 minutes to climb up. Be careful of the lamp post that are invaded with big wasps during the night, make sure to turn your torch lamp off no to attract them. The climb beggings in a temple so wear appropriate clothes (no knee or shoulders on show)

We climbed Pidurangala Rock one morning and the hosts arranged a predawn tuk tuk driver for us. If you’re looking for an enjoyable stay as you explore Sri Lanka you won’t go wrong here.

The family are so sweet, kind and accommodating and made us feel very at home - Sunil has a tuk tuk and is a tour guide so took us to Dambulla Cave Temple and Pidurangala Rock.
