The Olive Motel is awesome. David the owner is very friendly and gave us plenty of tips about where to get the best meal and what sightseeing attractions we shouldn't miss out on. The motel is extremely comfortable and clean. It has great wi-fi reception and is in a central location. We also took the chance to use the laundry facilities which was an easy process. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Olive Motel will be at the top of our list if we ever get back to Coromandel Town. Outstanding communication with the staff. We stayed in a multiplex room; very nice with lovely patios. The individual cabins looked nice; I'd choose one of those next time. The other facilities and offerings were all useful: a lounge, laundry, and shovels and towels to borrow to help explore Hot Water Beach.

Beachside Resort Motel is less than 5 minutes walk from Whitianga centre and less than 100 metres from Buffalo Beach. The hotel has an outdoor pool and a tennis court. Exceeded expectations. However, expected sea views as per hotel name. A bit Fawltey Towers-- had to stand high on corner of room to see sea views between other houses in front of hotel. However everything else was perfect.
