My flight arrived Merida on 22.00 so I came late at night. I took Va y ven bus from airport to ADO historical station and walked to the hostel - 500 m. away It's totally safe at night, around that time there're people around on the street.

Super attentive and eager to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. You really notice the attention to detail and design he and his wife put into the property. He has bicycles that he lends out for free to guests which was very helpful to get around town. Breakfast of coffee and fresh fruit and granola was perfect for starting the day. And you can't beat having the beach just a few steps away. Not to mention Celestun is a birding paradise!

Puerto del cielo is a super cute family run hotel in a lovely peaceful spot by the sea, and away from the toursit bustle of Progresso to the East. Jill and Randy were the most helpful and lovely hosts who really looked after me, including hooking me up with a bike rental and pointing me towards local rustic spots to grab food. The rooms are incredibly nice and tastefully done, and I loved my twenty yard stroll down into the warm ocean then sits in the thatch covered veranda watching the waves and writing. I will come again.
