The Riggs Washington DC is located in the former home of Riggs National Bank, and offers modern accommodations 5-minutes away from Gallery Place - Chinatown Metro Station. Generally found the staff to be very friendly and efficient. Location was really good and the fact that the hotel was converted from a bank provided a nice feel to it. The free gum ball machine was a great idea and the kids loved it.

Clean and modern hotel. Great breakfast options - loved the different porridge toppings and the jalapeño soufflé. We had the family room with full kitchen and dining space which was great as we have been travelling a while and appreciated having the space to spread out.

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, The Poppy Georgetown Guesthouse and Gardens is set in Washington, 2297 feet from The Capitol. This was one of the nicest hotel stays I had. I arrived very early in the morning (before the reception was manned, many hours before check in time) and still they let in to the lobby where I has access to a nice place to sit, work, have coffee etc. Then the person in charge came in (Nico) and he was super nice. They managed to get me to the room ahead of time (which was a blessing since I was very tired from a long flight, and the room was super nice. The entire stay was really like a home away from home. Location is in a nice neighborhood which for me was close to where I needed to go. I travel often and this is definitely one place I'd be very happy to revisit.

Washington DC has arrived! It has to be one of the great destinations in the U. S. A. It offers an abundance of cultural attractions and because it's the federal city the national museums are free. Not the best theater town in the country but DC has excellent regional theater with productions that eventually find their way to Broadway. DC is also a good poetry town with an active calendar of local poets presenting their most recent work year 'round. The number and type of restaurants is impressive; you'll find food representative of all parts of the globe. There is a large selection of budget friendly restaurants for travelers on limited funds. There are tourist attractions everywhere immediately inside the District of Columbia as well in the Maryland and Virginia suburbs. Public transportation to district attractions are easily accessible via the D. C. metro system. If you're a sports fan or fanatic, you'll find a team that you'll be able to support and see the local home team play a competitive game of baseball, basketball, football, hockey or soccer at the professional level. Allow yourself at least a week to give Washington DC a thorough visit. Time your visit to coincide with the local festivals such as the DC Jazz Festival, the Cherry Blossom Festival, the H Street Festival, the National Arboretum Tram Tour for Azalea season.
