Oyado Koto No Yume ligger blot 2 minutters gang fra Takayama Station og har farverige værelser i japansk stil, kildevandsbade, en restaurant der serverer morgenmad samt gratis wi-fi i hele bygningen. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The location is ideal just a few mins walk from station. For those planning to go shirakawago i would highly recommend to spend at least 1 night in Takayama.

From the great welcome we received to the food and the rooms and the comfy memory foam Futons ! Not to mention the Kimono try outs and fitting which was so fun for the family. And the special treatment that the kids received from the attentive staff. An amazing experience, we were so sad to leave

Toraya ligger i Gero, 48 km fra Takayama Station og 49 km fra Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village. Der er fælles opholdsstue og rolig gadeudsigt. Staffs was very helpful and friendly.

Nagataki ligger i Nakatsugawa, 13 km fra Ōi og 34 km fra landsbyen Japan Taisho. Der er have og udsigt til haven. Ejendommen er allergivenlig og ligger 12 km fra Enakyo Wonderland. This was the perfect introduction to Japanese culture for us. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They taught us how to dress in the traditional Japanese clothes, helped us with information on the Nakasendo walk, and provided beautiful meals. We were picked up from Nakatsugawa Station and taken to the accommodation, and the following morning they also drove us to Magome to start our Nakasendo walk. They even transported our bag to Nagiso for us. The service from the staff was exceptional. The chef Masaya Yoshida made us beautiful meals for dinner and breakfast. The rooms are traditional Japanese houses with a lot of space, separate rooms for sleeping and dining and private bathrooms in the houses as well as the public onsen. The houses are in beautiful gardens and the rooms have lovely views of the grounds. It is very peaceful and quiet, outside of the main township. This was a fantastic place to stay, and a great Japanese cultural experience.

Shiroyamakan ligger i Shirakawa, 1,4 km fra Shirakawago, og har gratis wi-fi overalt. Der tilbydes gratis privat parkering på selve ejendommen. Hele ejendommen er røgfri. Wonderful host family and delicious dinner and breakfast. Very easy to walk about the town here, or simply soak in the comfortable hot bath. A highlight ryokan of our two weeks in Japan!

Mozumo ligger i et roligt område i Gifu-regionen, ca. 52 minutters kørsel fra JR Takayama Station, og tilbyder varme kilder samt værelser med moderne japansk interiør. A stay with private jacuzzi in the calm peaceful forest with excellent service and food? This is complete paradise. Also the hotel itself doesnt take many guests so hardly get to bump into any other guests- feels like I own the whole place for myself almost.

Most magical place. Never stayed anywhere like it with such an incredible view of the river. Felt like a dream. Food and service were remarkable

Yatsusankan ligger 6 minutters gang fra JR Hidokoukawa Station og tilbyder indkvartering i traditionel japansk stil med rummelige offentlige bade. This ryokan was gorgeous and a place you can really experience Japanese "omotenashi", the service was exceptional. We pulled up in our car to be greeted by someone to welcome us, take our bags, and park the car. We were led into a beautiful waiting room to fill out our paperwork and were given fresh matcha and sweets. Then we were given a lovely tour and found our bags waiting for us in the room, which was massive and beautifully decorated. The onsen was lovely and the relaxation room had free massage chairs to enjoy. The whole ryokan is traditionally decorated and so fun to explore as it seemed there were new rooms and hallways everywhere. The breakfast, both Japanese and western were also delicious. I highly recommend this Ryokan for their stellar service and relaxing atmosphere.

Sumiyoshi Ryokan ligger kun 1 minuts gang fra det populære Miyagawa Morning Market i hjertet af Takayama. Det er indrettet i hjemlig japansk stil i det historiske byhus. Such a sweet Ryokan in Takayama! We stayed here for one night and loved the experience. At the check-in we were greeted by the lovely couple who runs the place. Despite speaking little English they communicated with us with kindness and were very welcoming. The room feels authentic and traditional, with a small balcony and a view to the small river nearby. The room was clean and quiet and we had a private toilet. The Onsen was definitely a highlight. We had it all to ourselves and loved the experience. Breakfast was early but good too (we chose the continental breakfast instead of the Japanese breakfast). Overall, it is a wonderful place, definitely recommended!
