I had such an amazing stay at Mimatsuso Ryokan! The ryokan was spotless and well located, and it was so nice to stay in a traditional Japanese house, with a traditional bathroom (with a bath to relax in), a yukata to put on after showering, and a delicious Japanese breakfast! (There are also signs in the ryokan saying that you can try on a kimono for free). The staff were extremely welcoming and made me feel at home. I’m sad I was only here one night but I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m back in Asahikawa!
Great hotel to relax in the onsen (the onsen has a bar to order drinks from). Just a short walk to the hot springs national park. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
It is located at a quiet and peaceful area, with great onsen, both jacuzzi and outdoor onsen are available. The tatami room was also great, especially if you like the tatami and futon experience.
Staffs are friendly, Kaiseki dinner and breakfast are delicious, love the tatami room and bedding, private onsen in the room is big enough to fit two ladies. Good location, the donan bus stop is just right in front of the property. Hotel is near to Hell Valley and the main street. Overall happy with the stay.
This property is the best in the nearby vicinity of Hell’s Valley in my opinion. Great location and accessibility to restaurants, Bear Park,Hell’s Valley, etc. We like the Japanese Room equipped with Warm cosy Futons Beds and Yukata for every guest. Service is great!
Not too far from station, lovely in-hotel onsen and yukata provided so it was very convenient :) futons and beds were comfortable :)
So glad I picked this small ryokan vs one of the big hotels. The staff were super kind and accommodating. The in-room meal was fantastic and the small onsen was never crowded. I even had it to myself a couple of times. The shuttle from the train station and to Oyunuma is also very convenient.
Very spacious rooms with great view. Exceptionally good located in the center of the city. We had a tatami-room with seating area and a futon. I loved it, but be aware you practically sleep only a few centimeters above the floor. Bath was one of the larger japanese standard cabins, with a big tub and more space than average.
We opted for half board - both dinner and breakfast were amazing! Food was delicious, presentation was beautiful and portions were adequate. The room was spacious, and the tatami mats that we slept on were comfortable. We also enjoyed the onsen. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was central and within walking distance to Jigokudani ( Hell Valley). Free parking was available.
Like the hot spring facilities (onsen) - it's big. Buffet dinner is good, with wide variety and crab/seafood. Like the futon bed experience.
