Japanese-style rooms feature a tatami (woven mat) floor and shoji sliding paper screens. Some rooms offer tranquil views of the Seto Inland Sea. They are fitted with an LCD TV, a mini-fridge and traditional futon beds. An en suite bathroom and yukata robes are provided. This place is a must stay if you are spending the night in the magical Miyajima Island. It's a traditional japanese inn with everything you need and more, it's a short walk from the ferry station and far from the crowds, but the hotel also provides a shuttle bus for guests that is super covenient. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a very peaceful view of the sea and the cute deers, and with futon beds that were really comfortable. The food was really good, both dinner and breakfast. I highly recommend to get these meals, not only for the whole experience but also for the convenience since the places in the city closes very early. The hotel also have an onsen, for women and men, ping pong table, hammock and a souvenir shop. Also I cannot forget to mention about the amazing and kind staff, from the reception to the drivers that took us to the city thank you so much for everything. We wished we have stayed one more day to enjoy more this place.

Rooms feature a traditional minimalist interior with a tatami (woven-straw) floor, Japanese decorations and traditional futon bedding. They are fitted with air conditioning, a TV and a bathroom with a shower, bathtub and toilet. Great location - 2 minutes walk from the ferry terminal. Traditional Japanese feel. The owner is very kind.

Besides amazing nature views, comfortable rooms come with a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge and an en suite bathroom. Yukata robes and green tea are provided. Guests sleep in Japanese futon bedding on the tatami (woven mat) floor. Everything was simply excellent and absolutely perfect. We felt luxuriously pampered in this beautiful ryokan. Its position is great, just minutes from the Itsukushima shrine and the great torii. It is perched on a hill, so rooms have the most perfect view on the torii and the sea. However, this is not an issue with luggage as there is an on-call free shuttle service from/to the port, that even picks you up on arrival, or delivers your luggage when leaving. Kaiseki dinner and japanese-style breakfast were highlights of our stay and absolutely fairly priced considering the half-board rate of the room. We also enjoyed the private onsen for a thirty minute slot that we could choose at check-in. Our room was very spacious - we guessed it could host 3 more people, with beautiful tatami and complete with yukatas to wear and a nice welcome tea served to us upon arrival. Amazing and unforgettable stay!

All rooms feature air conditioning and an electric kettle with green tea bags. Some rooms have carpeted floors and Western beds, and some feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Each room has an en suite bathroom. Shinko and Teppei were the kindest hosts ever! They showed how to properly dress yukatas and many other nice moments together. Teppei also suggested the places we should visit in this unique island. Dinner and breakfast were great!

The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring and Japanese futon beddings. A flat-screen TV, a fridge, and an electric kettle with green tea are included. Yukata robes and a private toilet are included in each room, but bathrooms are shared. The shared bath is available from 16:00 to 23:00. As I was by myself in a 10 tatami room it was absolutely amazing. The nicely separated private toilet and wash basin is also very beneficial. The bath, although shared within the ryokan, can be requested for time to yourself, which again for one person is absolutely massive. I had requested for dinner late on the check in day, and was accomondated for very helpingly. The food is a fantastic ~7 course Japanese feast for dinner, and 5-8 dishes for breakfast (depending on who you ask for what one dish is). The staff are extremely helpful with good English, and was more than accomondating with mw trying out my garbage Japanese skills. solid 10/10 would stay again next time I'm here.

Located within 2.3 km of Tsutsumigaura Beach and 500 metres of Five Storey Pagoda, Itsukushimahigashimonzen Kikugawa provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Miyajima. This 2-star ryokan offers luggage storage space and a housekeeping service. Momijidani Park is less than 1 km away and Museum of History and Folklore is a 12-minute walk from the ryokan. Great place to stay! They serve a traditional Japanese breakfast. They also do dinner but advance reservation is required. Authentic Ryokan with HQ Onsen. 1/2 board and regular shuttle buses. Staff couldn't so more
There was a wide range of amenities, hot spring, and the restaurant food was lovely we very much enjoyed our dinner and the staff were wonderful. We had a tatami style room and it was lovely of the staff to set up the futon whilst we had dinner. There were Yukatas to borrow for our stay as well and that was lovely.
This charming ryokan style hotel was like stepping back in time. Like others have mentioned, the hotel is dated, but it is well maintained and very clean. The view from the rooms out to the sea is lovely and futon beds very comfortable. The food was excellent and service exceptional. We enjoyed using the onsen facilities and rocking round in our yakuta. The shuttle service from the port was also very handy. We had a memorable stay and loved our time on Miyajima.
Very beautiful ryokan. The yukata. The onsen. Very clean. Polite staff. A nice experience of traditional ryokan.
Miyajima is so beautiful! The hotel is right on the main walkway looking towards the water, so really easy to find from the ferry. It's. Beautiful traditional Ryokan with Tatami floors and futons and a public bath, which after a long day travelling or sightseeing was bliss! The staff were so friendly and helpful, with recommendations for dinner and helping us catch the bus to the beach for a cool off! My favourite place in Japan so far!
The room had great views and was spacious. The futons were comfortable. The personnel was really kind and helpful, giving tips for where to go in the island and nice restaurants. The ryokan has a two onsens you can book for free for one hour, one of them with a nice view to a small garden, really nice. There is a kitchen where you can cook yourself which is big and a nice common area. We could not enjoy the garden as we stayed only one night. I would stay here again. Good value for the money spent.
This is a traditional Japanese style hotel: futons, onsen in the hotel. tatami mats. Really nice staff. Super conveniently placed for the ferry terminal and the shrine. Well worth getting up early and getting to the shrine before everyone arrives on the first ferries. Same in the evening. Stay here and see for yourself.
Spacious ryokan, friendly and helpful hotel staff, a shop at the lobby for last minute shopping, near shops and sightseeing places. They provided yukatas, water bottles, coffee, tea bags and delicious biscuits. They also setup your futon beds while we were out during dinner time.
Classic traditional ryokan (Japanese B&B) with an onsen (hot spring). Beautiful place. Immaculate service. I recommend taking half board to enjoy a fantastic elaborated dinner served in the room. The onsen facilities are great and there’s also table-tennis and karaoke 🎤
The place is awesome! Best Ryokan we've been in Japan. The room was very big, the futon very comfortable, and they provide you a very nice kimono! The room was very warm. The lady speaks a decent English. She offers the onsen upon reservation in the morning, and it's very nice. Third floor: common room with view in the entire bay and the pagoda! They also offered us a lift to the pier, since it was raining heavily!
