Yamaichi Bekkan

Miyajima

All rooms feature air conditioning and an electric kettle with green tea bags. Some rooms have carpeted floors and Western beds, and some feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Each room has an en suite bathroom. This adorable place is the definition of omotenashi. The host's kindness was just as heartwarming as the food was delicious. There is so much positive to say about Yamaichi Bekkan, it's hard to know where to start. Especially noteworthy: The host takes great care in asking your meal preferences, offering an authentic and amazing washoku experience from beginners to expats. You'll have an unforgettable time on Miyajima if you decide to stay here, which you absolutely should.

Itsumoya

Miyajima

A comfortable living room comes with a low table and seating cushions. A microwave, a fridge and an electric kettle are included in the kitchenette on the ground floor. Bedrooms are situated upstairs, and guests sleep on traditional futon bedding on tatami (woven-straw) flooring. The house is simply stunning! If you're looking for an authentic stay, this is it. The little garden in the middle of the house really adds to its charm. The bath is the best I've had in the past 5 weeks of traveling around Japan. And the owner is delightful.

About 8 minutes walk to the ferry pier and also 7 mins walk to the famous Itsukushima Shrine with the floating gate (Torii). I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone.
