Our host, Jonathan, was very welcoming and helpful, giving us lots of tips and advise on how to make the most of our stay. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the decor is lovely. Stylish yet quirky, with lots of the owner’s personality and history coming through. The breakfast menu offers lots of options and was freshly cooked to order. The produce was great quality and information is given on where they are sourced. Delicious. York is my most favourite city in England, and I would definitely stay at The Bishop and The Bison again when visiting York. It is a really pleasant 15 minute walk from the hotel into the city, with the option to use a beautiful river walk to get there. We only used a taxi once while there, when my choice of footwear was less than sensible! Highly recommend.
