Words could not describe how amazing was our experience. Since we arrived, Bryan welcomed us with a very big smile and kindness. The food, the location, the room, everything was perfect and way beyond our expectations. The jungle trekking with the staff of Sumatra Thomas Leaf Monkey was anonther level of perfection. Rachid and Gunawan were more than professional and helpful during the whole trip, big thanks to them. The trek was wonderful, the food also was so delicious , the lunch and the dinner in the camp where we had a special member of the team who cooked for us traditional dishes. We highly recommend both the guesthouse and the trip in the jungle with this super team. Thank you a lot for this lifetime memorable experience.

Ellie helped us to organise a trip in Sumatra from getting picked up at the airport to being dropped off, including activities such as jungle tour, elephant washing, lake toba, etc. Not only was she very professional during the organisation but she was also available all along in case something happened! Upon arrival at the discovery villa, we were greeted by Tyson and a delicious watermelon juice, while he walked us through the planning of the next couple days. Every guide we had was very knowledgeable ( Dany walked us through the jungle, he stopped often to show us some plants and of course the various monkeys/ orangutans) and always seemed very happy! The food was very diverse and delicious, especially the juices😋 The whole trip felt like pure holidays, we did something everyday but never felt rushed or stressed as the guides were usually flexible! Everything was absolutely amazing, we would definitely recommend staying there and take contact if there is any special requests, they are always happy to help their hosts!! We will hopefully be back one day!

The location is a perfect base for jungle trekking but the best thing is the incredible staff and the amazing food. I’m genuinely sad to leave and it feels like I’m leaving my home. Everyone works so hard to make it a fabulous experience. The room supplied the basics plus a mosquito net and was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and I was never too hot. The tour was astounding. Although there is no guarantee to see animals, it’s almost certain that you will. I saw 10 orangutans on the first day of my two day one night trek, including two completely wild ones which are difficult to find. I also saw many other species of mammals including the white gibbon and pig tailed monkey. Another rare find was a very large tortoise. The hotel owner and tour guide is very generous and welcoming, makes sure you are looked after and comfortable, and ensures a good time. This is the tour guide that you want. He is the one who guides the park rangers. He will take you to locations other tourists don’t go and you will spend the first night in a location away from the other camps that has a waterfall and very nice pool in the river to reward yourself with after a long hot trek. I highly recommend this hotel and tour guide. You will not regret it. If you have the time and money, definitely choose to do the longer treks. The guide/hotel owner also helped set up my transportation to and from Bukit Lawang and helped me plan the rest of my trip.

This is a big charming, wooden house unlike anything else we saw in Bukit Lawang. It’s beautiful and has a lot of character. The location is great, up many stairs but it’s worth it. Close to nearby restaurants and ‘Jack’s Bar’ which we loved for live music and awesome cocktails in a real jungle setting. The staff are so lovely and helped us with everything we needed, they organised a trek into the jungle for us and a day trip to their conservation site where we saw lots of orangutans. Banana pancakes for breakfast were so delicious too, thank you Ridho! Highly recommend staying here!

The host is an amazing cook and offers delicious breakfast to order and other meals for purchase. The grounds are beautiful, and it was helpful to have cooking facilities and a washing machine.

Jhony was a brilliant host and u ended up booking a two day one night jungle trek which was absolutely amazing, he is a very safe and responsible guide as he has been doing it for a long time. He took me to the spots to see the orangutans which was very special and we saw lots of other monkeys and animals as well. Yeh accommodation was very simple but for the price definitely worth it, couldn’t recommend more.

Quiet guesthouse and restaurant right on the river in Bukit Lawang town centre. Loved the location. Two rooms only, which are awesome - spacious, super clean and the photos are exactly what you get. Super comfortable bed and great bathroom. Did a great overnight trek with guide Hendra based at Enter Point also.
