This was probably the high point of our trip. I'd never stayed in a B&B in the US and didn't really know what to expect. We also didn't know if the excellent reviews meant the place was right for us or not. It was absolutely superb and we already know that we have to go back. Not just the friendliness of the owners or the breakfast (the best I've had anywhere and not rushed at all) or the room and the history of the house but just the 'feel' and the efforts the hosts made to make you feel on holiday. That so many people are repeat visitors tell you everything you need to know. Everything - down to the towels and the soap - was of exceptional quality. The night time Baileys and chocolate was such luxury. I so wish we could have stayed longer.

Offering a fitness centre and city view, Lincoln Park Boutique Hotel is set in Duluth, 3.9 km from Aerial Lift Bridge and 11 km from Spirit Mountain. This place was clean, comfortable, easy to find, and plenty roomy. We had no issues with parking or finding it or getting in. There are a good number of tasty restaurants within walking distance, a good number of breweries etc as well. My wife liked the furnishings in our room a lot, and my young kids were very happy with the space and the TVs and the bed etc. too. It was very quiet inside the building for us, and we used the carts to load our luggage in and out pretty easily. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a place to stay in Duluth with no fuss or hassle.

The location was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful for the most part. And this was indeed a glamping ground , one with heated bathrooms and a sauna.

Wilderness Meadows is located in Pine City and offers a garden. The property has garden views. There is an outdoor fireplace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. The location is beautiful. Very quiet! Loved that a lot of things were super well stocked like toilet paper, paper towels, coffee even some spices to cook with etc. The streaming services for the tv were amazing! Lots to choose from as far as being able to watch tv when relaxing at night. Just over all a very wonderful place to stay.

Located in Saint Paul, near Xcel Energy Center, Retro Gem Box Victorian Steps from Irvine Park is a historic apartment that features barbecue facilities. Loved the VHS projector, I kinda want to take that idea for my own apartment. The property as a whole was in a great location and exactly as depicted in the photos.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, The Dollar House is set in Albert Lea. Featuring private check-in and check-out, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. It obviously took a lot of work to make this a usable place to stay. Because I have an interest in rehabilitating challenging properties, I took a look in the basement. All of the basement walls had to be straightened and reinforced to rescue this house. It was done well. ALL of the plumbing had been replaced as had the HVAC system, and a sump pump installed to guard the basement from future damage. I'm certain it wasn't cheap or easy. As for the amenities, it's obvious the owner has done this before --and done some research on how to do this not just properly, but with excellence. There were many nice, considerate touches (like a sticker on the coffee pot that said, "The coffee is probably in the freezer.") For me, there are two things that really tell the story of how a property owner regards their guests: 1. The shower. In this house, it is excellent. Good flow, plenty of room, attention to detail, nice extra touch with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in dispensers mounted to the wall. Plenty of towels easily accessible. Well done. A+ 2. Toilet paper. Property owners who supply the cheapest toilet paper they can buy hate their guests, or at a minimum, have some kind of weird sado-masochistic desire to torture them. In this case, I'm guessing the product supplied was the same one the owners use in their own home. Not Charmin Ultra Soft, but definitely a top-tier brand. (Oh, and I noticed you rescued the original 1940's era art-deco TP holder that was probably there when the house was built.) Again, A+.
