The NH Collection was well located in La Floresta, a safe neighbourhood you can walk around in. It’s over the road from the Swiss Hotel, where you can buy tickets for the HOHO tour bus, a 10-15 minute walk away. Our 12th floor room was large with a great view down to the centro storico. On reflection though, a room on a lower level would have been better, to help as we acclimatised to the elevation. The food was really good- much better than the Hilton Colon and on a par with the Marriott. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was keenly priced. Overall it was a good choice.

The house interior decoration and architecture was amazing. We really enjoyed the breakfast, cooked at spot. All staff were very attentive and helpful, they help organising airport transfers. Also we were allowed some changes in the room type, so my mother could stay in the ground floor to avoid the stairs, thank you.

QUITO HAS A HUGE DISTINCT DISCRIMINITORY AGAINST ANYONE GAY.
QUITO HAS A HUGE DISTINCT DISCRIMINITORY AGAINST ANYONE GAY. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT WHAT SO EVER. ALSO HUGE CRIME RATE THAT IS UNBELEIVABLE. IT HAS DESTINCT DESTINATIONS NEARBY SUCH AS COTOPAXI , RIOBAMBA THAT ARE MUCH BETTER AND SAFER TO STAY IN.. YOU CAN ALWAYS TAKE A DAY TRIP ON A TOUR THAT IS SAFE AND SECURE BY BUS CHEAPLY.

Historic center was vibrant and scenic.
Historic center was vibrant and scenic. Enjoyed visiting the Basilica as well as the magnificent Church of the Franciscans and the colorful architecture and plazas. Enjoyed the chocolate tasting at Mundo, delicious traditional Andean cuisine at Runa Tulpa Andina and excellent continental cuisine at La Vid in the Archbishop's Palace. There was 360 degree view of city from the Statue of the Virgin Panecillo at top of Quito. A major highlight was the tour of the Capilla del Hombre and the home of the artist, Oswaldo Guayasamin.

Due to current political issues in Ecuador, we were a little apprehensive about making the trip. However, only minutes after we landed in Quito we fell in love. The airport is amazingly clean and has all the amenities you would want. Quito, the La Carolina area, was extremely clean and very secure. The shopping was fantastic and there were tons of restaurants to choose from. All that said, we were most surprised by how reasonably priced everything was.
Also, a lot of bars do not take credit cards. Ecuador uses the American dollar, so have some on hand so you don't have an awkward experience.
We would definitely make the trip again.

We were just there one night to experience the city having spent a few nights in the mountains near Pifo.
Loved the crazy city - beautiful architecture. Lots of security/police presence which made it feel safe. My partner was unwell so I explored the city solo - I was approached by a policeman who gave me a map and ensured I was safe/aware of where to walk etc.
It is easy to travel by foot. I would have liked longer but feel 2-3 nights would have been plenty.

We stayed 2 nights in Quito.
We stayed 2 nights in Quito. We had one full day in Quito, which was not enough. We happened to be there during Carnivale. We took a cab to the Basilica and then walked to Independance square to observe the celebration. Later we had a great meal in the nearby hall.

I was robbed on the third day I was in Quito.
I was robbed on the third day I was in Quito. A pickpocket stole my wallet and I lost USD 200. The police didn't seem to care and most couldn't speak English. Every single day I was harassed by beggars, some of whom were very aggressive. I didn't feel safe in Quito and became paranoid. I couldn't wait to leave. I would NEVER return to Ecuador and probably not any other country in South America. There is a nationwide state of emergency now, and it's very dangerous. I advise my fellow Americans to avoid Ecuador like the plague unless you go straight to the Galapagos Islands. Ecuador is by far the worst country I've ever been to and I've traveled all over the world.
This is a family run hotel. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Needed google translate at times as my Spanish is not that great and not all of the staff spoke English. But we had no problems at all. Breakfast was great and they were quite flexible with our timings. The art work and decor in the hotel was really wonderful and Ecuadorian. We left bags here while we traveled out of Quito and there was no problems with securing them again. Yes I would recommend this hotel. The Jacuzzi in our bathroom was an added bonus.
In the heart of historic Quito and close to many sites and restaurants. Beautiful property, clean and well maintained. Lovely historical room with modern amenities and bathroom. Excellent staff and service who were helpfully in every way from arranging day tours, restaurant reservations, and airport transport. Great breakfast with fresh fruit juices, eggs made to order, bread, and Ecuadorian coffee.
The hotel manager Jennifer was super nice, going out of the way to provide support and telling me about Quito and the Ecuadorian culture. I appreciate and value the conversation I had with her.
One of the most AMAZING breakfasts I had in a hotel. The service was classy!
Every nook and corner of the hotel is a masterpiece, this is a tourist spot by itself. Loved the detailing!
After a trip in Ecuador with very loud and run down hotels, we ended our trip by treating ourselves to this slightly more expensive hotel and it was so worth it, especially as we were both sick. The room was very clean and free parking!! Big TV and comfortable bed. Very clean. The best part was the breakfast (US$12 each) as it had many delicious options buffet style.
Convenient location within easy walk of all main attractions in historic centre. Nice open and spacious feel to the downstairs areas. Generous, varied breakfasts with different Ecuadorean speciality each day. Plenty of good quality towels - so often hotels limit guests to one each but Adamas supplied three! Very pleasant and helpful staff.
exceptional value. the staff was wonderful and kind and they made sure everything was perfect for us. they allowed our kids to play with their dogs and brought us a yummy warm drink for our family. it’s well placed in Quito Old Town. there was some street noise but it was manageable. I would stay here again!
We really liked the fact that the location was within walking distance of all the main sites in Old Town as well as many restaurants and cafes. We also enjoyed the breakfast, especially the tastes of Ecuador. ZFinalky we were very happy with tge hospitality and friendliness of all the staff
Great boutique hotel right in the historic centre. Fabulous location close to all the main attractions, great views of the city, generous breakfast. Very warm, welcoming staff who were all incredibly helpful. If you are visiting Quito then look no further - this is the only place to stay.

After booking.com contacted the manager, the room boy and the manager excused themselves for the behaviour of the room boy.
Just by insisting to receive a factura we received it.
Ecuador is a poor country. Making black money won't help Ecuadorian society!
We loved the delicious breakfast and the explanation of the food being served. This hotel had such charm and character, and the staff was so friendly, helpful, and caring. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a lovely place to stay in Old Town Quito!
We loved this hotel! It is so much more than just an accomodation! The staff is amazing, you learn a lot about the culture in Ecuador and also a dinner is more like an experience than just food! I would recommened everyone staying in Quito to stay here! :)
The staff were exceptional, incredibly helpful and kind. The decor in the hotel and rooms provided an authentic experience and gateway into Ecuadorian culture.
Also would highly recommend dinners at the hotel from the very talented chef.
Thanks to everybody for making my stay so wonderful in Quito! best place to go when you just arrived in Ecuador! A big thank you again to Karol for helping me out with everything! Hostels need staff like you!
We stayed a couple of times on our trip to Ecuador while passing through Quito. Nice staff, breakfast good for what we paid, comfortable bed, large modern and clean bathroom, hot water, good wifi, felt safe.
Really enjoyed the hotel, all staff was patient and accommodating. Food was very good, breakfast exceptional! Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The old town area architecture was interesting.
Feeling at home is the most important thing for us while we are traveling, Old Town Quito Suites met all our expectations of a very cosy place where we felt safe and comfortable at any time.
Hotel runned by a lovely family, we were extremely well treated.
It is clean and have Hot water, walking distance from the historic center.
Best quality price we had in our trip in Ecuador.
Of our 3 weeks in Ecuador this hotel was by far the best. Big room, super comfy bed, couldn't hear road traffic, great setting, great staff. 100% would stay here again and recommend it.
The hotel was very charming and recently renovated. It’s a great location in historic old town Quito.
The staff is very friendly, helpful, and treats you like family.
