Former hosts of the European Grand Prix, Valencians take their sport seriously and so they should. Try to take in a match at the 75000-seater Valencia FC stadium to experience the electric atmosphere.

Parc Gulliver was a hit with the kids Turia gardens are lovely Public transport very cheap (40 cents per journey with a SUMA-10 travel card) and plentiful The old town was atmospheric without being twee Felt like a less tourist-choked version of Barcelona We ate paella at La Paz at Playa de las Arenas - very tasty

Will never get enough of Valencia, just love the city and can walk around there for days. It has everything you need in a city. Visit the Turia for its green nature and cosiness, the sea with the beautiful beaches, neigbourhood around Xativa for shopping and Russafa for the nightlife. Hotel’s look and feel in general are not top notch, but still very clean, comfortable and in a decent condition. It provides a very good value for the money. Would definitely rebook here again. Very close to Valencia airport.

Three short blocks from the Valencia Nord train station and on a quiet side street near all the sights in the old town. The beds were comfy, the air-con a welcome relief from a hot day and night and the rooms were spotlessly clean. We were able to leave our bags for the day before catching a train. Just make sure you talk to the friendly and helpful guy at the desk so you know the code to retrieve your bags when it's time.
