Amazing conversion of the former abbey accommodation. Our bedroom was small but comfortable off a big corridor. We opted for our own bathroom but another time would go for the shared bathroom option. Plenty of facilities with good privacy. Breakfast was good.
The hotel is conveniently located, close to the Autoroute A10, towards the city centre of Saintes. You will be able to park your car in the private car park.

We treated ourselves to a suite which was great for a two night stay so we could properly chill in the room.
Room was great and super clean with a very large bathroom. It only had a bath which was a struggle for us but the property advised us when we booked so we were aware.
Breakfast was OK.

Just off the A10. Basic, but clean and comfortable.
It is a relatively small city but has everything to offer.
It is a relatively small city but has everything to offer. The fresh markets are fabulous. It is connected to the bigger cities by train so easy to get to. Visit the tourist office on the banks of the river and get the self-guided walking tour map - leads you to a beautiful visit of the city.

Saintes is a really interesting town, well worth a day or two of exploration. There are historic buildings in the town centre and a (mile or so) walk to a roman ampitheatre, which was being renovated when we visited and another large church. The river Charante runs through the middle of town. Just beware, though, on a Sunday evening almost all the restaurants/ bars are closed so ask beforehand if you want to eat out

Quaint mid-French town on the banks of the Charente.
Quaint mid-French town on the banks of the Charente. Lively along the river banks but away from they’re much more classy and sophisticated with a busy evening scene including live music and excellent restaurants and bars. Only stayed one night en route from the Dordoigne to Brittany, but managed to fit in the Abbaye and the Amphitheatre, both of which I would recommend. Stayed at the Hotel Messageries - highly recommend.

It was easy to find and welcoming when you reached the Reception. We asked if there was a nearby restaurant and was immediately directed to a beautiful little place, which allowed dogs too. (A real bonus) . The room was very clean and had a country cottage feel with pale blue painted furniture. Made a change from the normal plain, impersonal chain hotel rooms.

There wasn't a great selection of restaurants in Saintes and our dinner was a little on the miserable side. But the town was beautiful; the river; the amphitheatre; the Roman antiquities. We would definitely return to Saintes again and probably stay at one of the modest hotels in the centre of town.

This "hotel" is just about OK if you are needing to rest overnight but do not pay for breakfast - it's very poor! No bar and just an awful TV area nowhere comfortable to sit and read- we escaped for an hour or so. Drive on or if staying in Saintes stay central there are some great hotels in the old part
This was a "spur of the moment" booking en-route from Northern Spain to Brittany and so glad we happened here. Although the restaurant was closed at the time of our arrival our hosts provided an excellent home prepared meal for us. All members of the Hotel staff were so keen to assist and make our stay so very comfortable, a real pleasure. We will definitely make an effort to book again when next in the area. The Hotel boasts a really pleasant garden with wildlife and a couple of well thought out ponds.
Neat and clean hotel offering a friendly and professional welcome. The rooms are basic but spotless and comfortable, with everything you need for a quiet night's sleep. We enjoyed the breakfast, which comprised the usual fresh bread, croissants, yoghurts etc. Conveniently located if you are traveling on the A10, with a few restaurants withing walking distance. - we had a good meal at the Bistro Regent.
Needed somewhere to stopover for the night. This is about a 5 hours' drive from Caen. On the outskirts of Saintes in a pleasant and quiet area with good free parking at the door. In a charming old house of several other apartments but with private entrance up external stairs. Small but with everything you need and clean and comfortable. Good communication and instructions from the owner.
Nice Hotel and vertical confortable for visiting Saintes, or to make a stop in a long trip (in our case, from Paris to Spain). It is not in the center of the village; but it is very easy to arrive there by car from the main road.
Very kindly staff; we had a trouble with our reservación, but they found a quick solution for us
Recently put into operation therefore very clean and well decorated. The bed very comfortable and the bedroom quiet. Evening meals will be served in the future but there is a restaurant closeby which serves very good food. The hotel breakfast was more than adequate with the usual selections.
Lovely, spacious and well appointed house with a pretty garden as well, location is great. Owner very helpful and everything was very straightforward. Parking at front is really convenient. Would recommend for a stay in lovely Saintes, and we plan to come back!
we had already stayed here in our through France to Spain and it was so good we re booked it in our way back!
lovely accommodation with a garage for our car
very clean and contemporary with a fab shower
breakfast was excellent and delivered to the door
It’s very much a hands off hotel company. I arrived, checked myself in online which gave me the room. number and access code. Didn’t meet any staff until later. But it was a really good stay if perhaps a little soulless
Les Persiennes is a very nice accommodation. Comfortable, with very friendly hosts and on a walking distance to the nice city centre of Saintes. The breakfast was good and the accommodation sell home made products.
Room similar to most Ibis hotels, but with a surprisingly comfortable bed!!!
The restaurant has its own chef and the meals were tasty and nicely presented. The dessert was divine.Surcha
great position overlooking the river. we were able to take our dogs into the downstairs bar which was a bonus as we stayed in December. Paid undercover parking very close to hotel.
The softest towels of my 3-week stay in France! Comfy bed. Table for eating at. Ground-floor room ( very important for me), close to my car. Woman at front desk very accommodating.
The hotel is perfectly located right in the old centre of Saintes. Secure parking is 12 euros. Comfortable bed, nice shower, small toilet. A great place to stop in a lovely town.
I like how natural this property was. It is actually a home with rooms like a hotel. The owners are delightful and the food homemade. The rooms are very comfortable.
room was small but clean and comfortable. I like the area around hotel a lot. Free parking place is also an advantage. several supermarkets are close to the hotel.
