A wonderful almost hidden gem, the whole town is a living museum full of lovely historic buildings by chance exactly as they were hundreds of years ago. We continue to be amazed at the sights within the town.
Cannot recommend too much the Chez Félix restaurant in the town centre, great food, lovely staff, very pleasant atmosphere appealing to all ages - and delicious Champagne!

It's a busy town, but our host gave clear instructions to find free parking within a five minute walk. This property is right in the historic heart of Troyes, so you really get a feel for the place. The architecture is stunning - tall timber framed merchant houses, and some other stone built elegant structures too. With just a one night stay, and a ferry to catch the following day, we had nowhere near enough time to appreciate it - and no time to visit any of the amazing churches. We need to come again to enjoy it all properly. We ate at a popular grill restaurant in one of the old timber-framed buildings. It was buzzing and busy, but they fitted us in. We enjoyed local food and some champagne from the region.

The old town is lovely: fascinating architecture and quaint laneways. Not buzzing with cars so easy to get around on foot. Every encounter with the locals was pleasant. A nice place to soak in la vie francaise.

The city centre was easily accessible being level with plenty of restaurant options. The old buildings gave the city a wonderful atmosphere and there are many things of interest to visit. I will return for a third visit.

Troyes is a fantastic, friendly, safe city.
Troyes is a fantastic, friendly, safe city. Easy to walk everywhere and so much to see and do a few days is not enough. The museums, medieval houses, churches are fascinating .It is like walking into history. Don't forget to visit the Mediatheque, the collection of ancient books is amazing. After an afternoon of exploring try one of the many cafes for something yummy to eat. Then take a night stroll down to the canal to see Troyes lit up at night!!
A beautifully renovated historic building right next to the city centre. We were looking for a stay over during our trip to Southern Europe. Troyes is a beautiful town and easy to access from the highway. The hotel offers secure parking, which is also a great plus. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was good size, clean, comfortable, and pleasant. I also very much enjoyed the bar. The city centre is a five minute's walk from the hotel and certainly a not to miss.
The location was perfect, quiet but right by the centre of everything.
The room was comfortable and large, the bathroom clean and well equipped.
The breakfast was generous, with various options such as fruit, cereals and yoghurt (in addition to bread and croissant) which you don't often get in France.
The staff were very helpful. There is also a useful option to order a take-away dinner in the room for a good price, if for some reason you don't want to (or can't) dine out.
Very comfortable beds in a well-appointed flat—it would be a good choice if you were using Troyes as a base for a few days and didn’t want to eat out every morning, noon, and night. There’s even a small coffee machine for when the kids wake you up before the boulangeries are open! It is very central: the ‘main drag’ of restaurants are barely five minutes away.
Secure underground parking at l’Hôtel de Ville is a very short walk away.
The hotel is in an excellent location and the parking was great - very easy to find and large parking spaces! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was quiet and comfortable. We were so impressed that we cancelled another hotel and went back for our return trip to the UK. Perfect stopover location on the way back from the south of France. Spa looks lovely although we didn't try it this time.
excellant location with parking across the street. Room was fresh and clean. great attention to decorating details. Kitchen was dully kitted out with utensils, glass ware, plates and cookware. Host offered a delicious home made breakfast with crepes, eggs to order, fresh juices and coffee. highly recommend staying here. If in Troyes again this is where I’ll book!
We have stayed here on several occasions pre Covid this was the first time since. Much the same as before need to book car parking for which there is a charge. Nice outside space at rear of hotel, it is close to the town and a 10% discount is offered to guests at a nearby, reasonably priced and quite good restaurant.
Our host Alexandre was welcoming and provided informative recommendations for restaurants and museums. The room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The location is a two minute walk from the historic centre. He made us feel like we were home . Thank you for such an enjoyable stay in Troyes!
Excellent welcome from reception, who had dealt with our parking anomalies and booking error (my mistake) . Clan, comfortable room. Especially appreciated the choice of pillows.
Renge of tasty items for breakfast. Will definitely move from my usual stopover in Troyes to this hotel.
Quirky hotel with on site parking. Staff open the gates so need to know you have arrived by phone, it is a narrow 1 way street with no stopping area. In a great area of town. Loads of interesting bars and restaurants a couple of minutes away.
Staff were very friendly and helpful
The location is excellent for a stopover on the way through France - close to the main road, and also nearby is a very good bar and some restaurants, so you can eat and drink at the hotel but there are also other choices. Good helpful staff, and nice comfy room.
Location is excellent, very close to the centre of Troyes and withing an easy walk. Room was a good size for a family of 4. Exceptionally quiet in the room we had. Car parking was available opposite the hotel which made things much easier.
Stayed at this hotel many times as we have travelled through France. Rooms are a decent size and well decorated. Good choice of food at breakfast. Short walk into the town centre, with several bars and restaurants. Nice area to visit.
Troyes is a great place to stop on the way to Italy or further south in France or for a short stay in itself. This is the second time we have stayed here and it is perfect. The host Ed is great and we will definitely stay again.
Friendly and welcoming staff, spacious room and comfortable bed, great breakfast buffet – all at an affordable price. It was our first time staying at an Akena Hotel and it exceeded our expectations :)
The room is very compressed (it is tiny), but they manage to fit a good size bed, desk, and luggage rack in the room. The hotel room was very clean. The breakfast was very nice. The location is good.
Fantastic location. Clean. Helpful staff. We stayed overnight on both outbound & inbound journeys to the south of France. Great place would definitely recommend
