First of all let me just tell everyone...THERE WERE NO BUGS OF ANY KIND. MY ROOM WAS CLEAN AND HAD NO ODOR. The mattress wasn't too firm or too soft. I felt warm and cozy! The desk person was very pleasant and accommodating. I liked her. It's not the most updated inn but it was o.k.

Having restaurants within walking distance was definitely a plus. Cafe Ole (at least I think that’s what it was called) was a great spot. Delicious food and great staff. The lack of specialty shops along the strip was unfortunate. The stores that were there were repetitive block after block. There were the usual beachy stores, ice cream and arcades. We stayed Oceanside and when the weather became inclement there wasn’t much to do at all in the immediate area. A 10-15 minute drive brings you to where the chain restaurants, larger stores and indoor activities are.

I like VAbeach culture.
I like VAbeach culture. Many restaurants, shops, events and activities yearround that are welcoming and open. Parking is easily found. City and beach are of great cleanliness. Places I visited...the beach, Capes Hotel, Abby Road, Rudie Inlet, Big Sam's, Chics on the Beach, Harpoon Larry's, Murphy's, Mosiac Cafe, Ocean Eddie's, YVBC Bunker Brewpub, Kilwins, The Pier Shops, and many other beach item shops.

It was off season. so many shops closed.
also most areas are prepping for the summer season.
Summer season is loud and lots of people.
I would avoid spring break College invasion if you want to avoid noise.
The boardwalk is main focus of the beach.
In our opinion, the center of the boardwalk is the most active.
If you're older and want peace / relaxation. may not be for you.
B/B may be the answer off the strip.

Virginia Beach has a lot to offer from great beaches, entertainment, great restaurants etc. Gringos Mexican on Norfolk Avenue- great Mexican and I highly recommend the nostalgic Nicks Cafe of which a lot of the locals go with great food specials. Burgers are top notch. Too many places to list
For the price paid, you would like the hotel was on the boardwalk, but it is still in a great location. It was fine for a place to sleep - not many extra bells and whistles (considering price). Staff was friendly and welcoming. Again, location is good for walking to anything - loved being close to McMurphys and Starbucks, and just a block from the boardwalk. Back entry into hotel looks a little run down - maybe they are going to remodel? Pool is small but great for a dip and to sit and read a book.
Beautiful hotel! It was so clean! The lobby was beautiful and felt easy with a touch of elegance. It’s just a short walk from the center of the boardwalk. The boardwalk was right out front and you can people watch from the balcony. We had beautiful weather in February and enjoyed a day on the beach which was pristine. Virginia Beach is one of our favorite off season stays. (We aren’t big on crowds.) Definitely check this new hotel out if you are looking to stay in Virginia Beach.
The location of the hotel was in a great area did not know until we ate at California Piazza Kitchen
that we there was so many other places to eat. We ate at Anchor's Allie near the hotel which the
breakfast food was great. Virginia Beach was awesome and so was the food at a restaurant we
also ate at. We did the Village Inn which was right next to the hotel and also great food. I will
definitely return to Virginia Beach again!!
I liked the price of the room and really that was it. The staff was really friendly and housekeeping was nice and punctual. I liked the location of the hotel. We were 2 blocks from the beach but very centered on the boardwalk so you could walk north to everything and south and not be too tired. You get what you paid for here though. Room could have used a little love.
Many activities for the children; between 3 different pools, a movie theater, and the splash kamp. The Virginia Beach aquarium is right down the street. The hotel is oceanfront. Just a great convenient location and family friendly. We enjoyed every minute. I would definitely return and recommend. The staff was very accommodating, friendly, and professional.
Mostly very good hotel. Some aspects very new, so contuniing to be taken care of. I had a suite: bedroom, small bathroom, large living room with stunning beach view and kitchen at other end. Best big fridge I've had in any hotel room. BIg coffee machine. Good email saying park outside until after check-in. Parking is structure next door to hotel.
The staff was very accommodating to several requests I made. Room was clean, refrigerator was a nice size and even had a freezer section. coffer maker, microwave, hairdryer, tv. Small table and 2 chairs. All rooms are waterview and have a balcony, hotel is on the boardwalk. Indoor pool. About on the middle of the boardwalk. Easy beach access.
The room size and amenities fit the needs of our family of five. The location was perfectly across from the oceanfront. The shower head pressure was really nice as well. The hotel surpassed my expectations for the stay and it was way better than the Sheraton across the street, in which I stayed in the off-season.
The Best Western/Sandcastle is upgrading the lobby and hotel rooms. We stayed for one night in the "penthouse" room on the roof. It was a nice space. They moved us to another room the rest of the stay. Both rooms overlook Virginia Beach. The staff was very accommodating and ready to serve you.
This hotel was in a great location - on the boardwalk and close to many restaurants and shops. We booked a king suite and enjoyed having a separate bedroom in addition to a living/dinette/kitchenette area. Courteous staff and clean room.
Breakfast was really good. Staff was super friendly. Location was great. Overall a very nice place to stay. I would definitely stay again. Room/hotel was very clean. Older teens enjoyed the hot tub and pool which also was very clean.
Oceanfront view. There is nice balcony where you can enjoy ocean view! There is also laundry room available, which is so convenient for guests. Clean rooms. For 3-star hotel - I would say it is great accommodation.
Everything! This apartment is amazing, the host has thought of everything. All appliances and furnishings are like new. Location is right on the beach and boardwalk and at the quieter end of Virginia Beach.
The room was perfect, first floor level right on the boardwalk. And the food location are just walks away up and down the boardwalk, or minutes drive away. Best room I ever had on a beach vacation.
Everything.
At BW uncommon valor appears to be a common virtue
We travelled from Buda TX 78610 to the east coast Virginia Beach VA to visit colleges Duke, College W&M
Thank you
20 minutes to the beach could be worse but definitely would have an easier time and better experience getting a hotel right on the boardwalk.. decent lobby but that’s about it.
Location was great but given the great location it was to noisy at night with all the loud music on the boardwalk. Hotel over all was fantastic and breakfast was amazing.
