Location and views are second to none, but would never be the same if not for the excellent staff working there. Piero (wonderful wine and olive oil tasting), Vicenzo and Alesso at the restaurant were amazing and no less amazing were Lorenzo, Sophie and two other ladies at reception that i can't remember her names (sorry!) but equally super professional and accommodating!

This 11th century Tuscan farmhouse is nestled in the beautiful Florentine hills, amongst private gardens where you can enjoy al fresco dining. All rooms offer air conditioning and a flat-screen TV. Giulia was a welcoming and helpful host; she and her staff made us feel right at home. The private and public spaces were so beautiful and tastefully designed that we felt like we were staying in the pages of a magazine! It being springtime, the grounds were also beautiful, lush with wildflowers and singing birds and frogs. We also really enjoyed: the homemade breakfast buffets, the peacefulness and privacy of our room, and the comfortable bed. Casalino18 is also well-located, within a 15-45 minute drive of most sites of interest in Siena province.

With garden views, Villa Vacasio Bio-Eco is set in Pitigliano and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, picnic area and seasonal outdoor pool. I only wish it was easy for us Canadians to return for another stay.
